If you are buying these I am going to assume you have or aim to have very low phosphate/phosphorus levels. I regularly read b/w 4 and 6 ppb. That is mind bogglingly low even for this test to read. I do get crazy readings on occasion. I think one thing that happens is I may get a copepod or stray piece of detritus in the test. At these low levels this can sway the results wildly.Also, the 2 minute shake and 3 minute wait are important as running the tests too soon yields higher numbers. The results seem to stabilize after the 5 minute wait time. I use both bottles to do a test, one for straight tank water and one for tank water with reagent. I tested with both bottles with just tank water and always get 0. Using both bottles allows me to run multiple tests on the same sample which saves money. I will get a different number with each test but they are close. I have settled on running 5 times and using an average. While this is not the specified method in the instructions, it works for me.

I've been using the Hanna reagents for quite some time now and I'm very pleased with their products. The seller in this case was excellent. Everything arrived as promised and right on time! I will absolutely order from this seller again.
