Up The Irons!
So far I'm enjoying it quite a bit. I like learning about the connections that all of the British bands of the day all had with one another. Interesting learning about the different regions of England that they all came from and how they all had their own flavor.Very interesting for a hardcore Maiden fan like me who really didn't know that there was this whole scene across the pond that was going on before they made their appearance here. Gives a great perspective on what led up to their arrival and explosion here in the U.S.Can't wait to read more.

I bought this book for my husband
My husband is a big fan of Greg's books and this one in particular. He's now listening to a lot of Tigers of Pan Tang.

Iron Maiden- The Di' Anno Era...
Iron Maiden: '80 '81 covers the Paul Di' Anno era of the band through interviews with a variety of musicians and associated personalities.I've always preferred Paul Di' Anno to Bruce Dickinson and consider Iron Maiden's first two studio albums their best, so it's nice to hear feedback from professional musicians that mirror some of my long held opinions. Not all of the commentary is positive and some of the statements come off as sour grapes, particularly those made by Anvil's singer/guitarist Lips and Raven's John Gallagher who seem jealous of Iron Maiden's relative success. Other commentary by Dave Lombardo, Scott Ian, Pete Way, Charlie Benante, Mike Portnoy etc., reinforces the importance, influence and greatness of early Iron Maiden and acknowledges the talent of the band's various members. My criticisms are minor. Iron Maiden: '80 '81 is organised strangely with the interview question worked into the answer and it's too bad the author couldn't get Steve Harris and Bruce Dickinson to participate in the Q & A.Iron Maiden: '80 '81 is a must have for Di' Anno era fans of the band.

Up the Irons!
This bloke wrote a great book! Awesome to hear the early Maiden story from D'ianno and Stratton along with bands who were playing with them at the time. I didn't even notice there wasn't a clickable table of contents.

This is such a fantastic book for any Maiden
This is such a fantastic book for any Maiden, or NWOBHM fan! Many fanatics have seen the Maiden early years DVD's and think they know all there is to know about this era. However, this book takes a different approach as told through the eyes of the other great bands that were in the scene at the time and saw the rise of Maiden, first hand. This was truly an enjoyable read from start to finish. Well done and a great addition to any true metalhead's collection.

Sobresaliente.
Completamente en inglés, relata básicamente la etapa Paul Di'Anno. Multitud de datos, fechas, cortes de entrevistas... todo cronológico. Me ha encantado, y si te gusta esa época vale mucho la pena. Mejor de lo que esperaba.

Best era of the band?
I hesitated about buying this book. What else can be written about IM?The author interviews a lot of big players of the era.A very rewarding Reading for the hardcore fans, and a guiding light for the nephytes.

A refreshing and original take on a great band
A very different approach, describing the best band on earth from both lovers and sour grapes amongst the metal community. It's refreshing to see the amount of love Clive burr gets from his contemporaries. He was foundational to maiden in ways not expressed before this book.
