Our Bluebird Pair Loves It…..Starlings, not so much
We have enjoyed a bluebird pair nesting in our back yard now for several years, and immensely enjoy watching them. Our previous mealworm feeder had no barriers for the Starlings, who could empty the feeder in a manner of hours. Our search for a Starling-proof feeder lead us to this option. The birds only took a few hours to figure out how to get to the mealworms, and seem to actually hang out longer because of the safety of the side panels keeping other birds out. The Starlings tried and tried to get in, but have had no success whatsoever. Of course, other smaller birds are able to get in, but that’s perfectly fine.

Happy Bluebirds
It took about two weeks for the bluebirds to figure it out. A downy woodpecker figured it out first. Now the bluebirds visit regularly. Most importantly, the starlings cannot get into the feeder, which is why I bought it. Birds being birds, the feeder needs to be cleaned out regularly. I used a putty knife, slide out one of the plastic windows, and scrape it clean.

Take that Mr. Mockingbird
Well built feeder just as one would expect from the Amish. Mockingbird had taken over my dome feeder from my bluebirds. Will hang it in the morning and watch the bluebirds and mockingbird reaction.May take bluebirds some time to figure it out but they are smart. The mockingbird can go bother someone else.

Holes are too small... My birds cannot get in
It's a well made product. Very sturdy and weather proof. One issue, my blue birds can't get in the holes. Either they're too fat or the holes are too small. Oh well.

Durable, beautiful feeder
This is a great bluebird feeder - very well crafted and nice to look at. It took my bluebirds (and a couple Carolina wrens) several tries to figure it out. On the first week, two male bluebirds got trapped inside and panicked, couldn't figure out how to get back out, so I opened the lid to let them out. It might be best, for starters, to hang it low where you can reach it to help first-timers. It would help to add scores or lines on the acrylic sides. After I did that using an ink marker, the birds realized that the sides were not available for egress.

Nice quality
Nice sturdy feeder. The starlings figured out how get into my other feeder. This one should keep them out.
