Hope (s)he likes unicorns, because here's what you need.The kid in the attached photo is 5'0" and about 115 lbs -- five pounds over the official "50 KG" limit. It's a good fit, not even tight. The leg holes are big enough, the seat area is big enough, it's bouyant enough, and it's strong enough. We put this person in there originally just for the photo but he then floated around the pool in it for close to an hour. Your twelve-year-old would fit in this thing.

this float was a huge hit for my 3 year old at the beach. she absolutely loved it. it was the perfect size. very cute and durable. we used it for floating for hours each day in the ocean during the week long trip. the design is very good and safe, with stabilizing bumper pads on the side, handles, plus a rope.

this float is very cute and my kids love it.probably a little too big for kids under 3 years old.we bought it for summer 2020 and it got a lot of use.i left it in my backyard until december and it is still holding air well.i only had to add a little bit of air once or twice in 6 months, which is to be expected i think.

My grandchildren, ages 3-5, loved this unicorn float in the pool. Leg holes fit good and kept them from falling through as compared to open hole floats. It is well made and sturdy. Especially helpful too are the side float portions that help keep the unicorn and kids upright. The handles on the neck made my grandkids do riding/rocking motions on it like they were on a real horse lol. Didn't really use the rope pull too much but it was nice that it had one. Rope could have been a bit longer but I assume it's length was determined for safety reasons. Look forward to using it at the beach this summer.

Worked great for a toddler in the pool. She loved it and we got lots of comments. Rope made it convenient to pull. Took it to the beach once and it quickly tipped upside down in the waves, with our two year old upside down in it. We were right there, so it was fine, but recommend being very careful in any kind of surf.

Do not hesitate to get this float, it is amazing for older kids. I am pretty sure it would last for several summers. We got it for a trip to a resort and it was the perfect float. 10/10 recommend for older kids.For reference, my son is 4 years old and 40 pounds

This was so perfect for our Hawaii trip! I didn’t take up very much room in the suitcase and my daughter loved loved loved it! She’s three and she wore a life jacket in it so I didn’t mind that it seems like she might topple over in it. We actually practiced how to hold her breath and kick her legs out if she were to follow her just so she could be prepared. I’m so impressed because it’s still usable even after our trip and I’m looking forward to using it for the pool this summer
