This is a lightweight plastic owl with a hole underneath. I bought this to use as a decoy to scare away squirrels that won’t stop pestering my dog. I put in on top of a lamppost on one side of the yard where squirrels visit and then I moved it to another side. It didn’t work to scare the squirrels at all. I am returning it.

Used to keep birds out of my barn. It does keep them out for a while, then they got used to it and started coming in again so I moved it and they were gone again. I’ll keep moving it every few weeks or so.

I purchased to keep on my porch to prevent birds from building their nests on my lights; so far so good. It’s also pretty cute on my patio lol

This worked for a little bit on my back porch keeping the barn swallows away. I had used bird spikes last year which lasted for a while but when the season started again this year they started trying to make their usual nest spot again working around the spikes. :( So ordered the owl. Now they are hatching their first group of babies on a nest they built on the fake owls head. arrrrghhhh. as soon as they fly I'm going to take down the owl and put up maybe some orange netting that I hear will work but shouldn't hurt the birds. SIGH! Still if you are looking for a fake owl it's light weight and not too expensive and durable enough to hold a nest of birds on it's head.

I am so glad that I got these owls trying to keep the birds out and off my porch. Honestly, my husband mentioned this idea and we both ended up purchasing owls off of here. The price is good and they are sturdy and worth it

Stopped the cardinal from slamming into my glass door 24 hours a day completely. I don't even see it lurking around nearby anymore after a few weeks.I haven't moved it, either. Some birds have come closer to it, but they've stayed far enough away that my patio furniture has been safe.Do keep in mind it's hollow and lightweight so depending on how you want to use it, you might need to fill it with sand or something (I just used some small rocks that were under my deck). It's stayed standing up in place even in high winds for weeks so far.But yes. It stopped the red bird.

It’s a plastic owl that seems life-size and has shining, intimidating eyes. It was easy to mount on top of a garden stake and put in my raised-bed vegetable garden.Now, I don’t know whether it will scare away birds and/or squirrels, but if it doesn’t, it’s certainly not the fault of the product or the manufacturer. It’s just a realistic plastic fake owl. I’m quite amused by the one-star reviews complaining that animals are not scared. How is that the manufacturer’s fault?There is a plug slightly bigger than an inch and a half in diameter on the bottom. You can fill it with pebbles, sand, or anything else that will provide weight, and then set it on a surface. Or you can do as I did (the really low-tech approach): remove the plug, get a six-foot cheap garden stake, increase the stake’s diameter with duct tape if necessary (to keep it from flopping around), and stick it in the ground.I’ll probably know in a week whether it scared off the hungry and thirsty neighborhood critters. But if it doesn’t, it’s not because the product doesn’t “work properly” or something.

I like that it is realistic looking and it seems to be working. I haven't seen any squirrels chewing on my house lately. It might be keeping birds away. I gave it a 4 because it is small for an owl, but the squirrels don't seem to know that. But in all fairness, I knew it was small when I ordered it.

The media could not be loaded.  I have couple of ponds behind my property and had a problem with pidgeon and goose droppings. Was out often cleaning. Since getting this i have not had to clean up once (only had it a day). Will move it occasionally as other reviewers have sugested so they dont get used to it being a static ornament.

La figura del búho es bastante buena, bien detallada y más o menos resistente al sol, aunque es más ligero de lo que pensaba. Sin embargo, NO SIRVIÓ para el problema que tengo con palomas, sólo llegan aproximadamente 3 o 4 de esas aves y se pasean enfrente del búho, incluso lo trataron de picar y empujar para que se caiga. Quizá sirva mejor sólo como decoración de casa o jardín

Si sirvió para mis necesidades que era espantar ardillas incremente considerable mi cosecha de castañas, al no haber ardillas

Nunca lo recibí, me devolvieron mi dinero

Lo compré para espantar unos pichones de la casa, pero no funcionó.
