I really love the concept and kind of hate writing this, but these envelopes have twice proven too fragile to get the contents (soft clothing) safely to their destinations. The packages have been destroyed, with the contents lost.The issue seems to correlate with cold/snowy weather, so these just might not do so well when getting cold and/or wet while traveling across the country. According to USPS, packages like these are hand-scanned and not run through machines, so that is not where the damage occurs.There are other, thicker biodegradable mailers out there. I would recommend those.

A big disappointment--had to return these. Instead of the usual fine powder that separates bags, my bags were covered in some sort of thin, oily film that adhesive won't stick to, making them useless for shipping. The photo shows the residue vs the expected powder.
