Literal best case on the market for the PW5
I’ve tried 8 different Kindle Paperwhite 5 cases from Amazon. The final consensus: though this one is heavier than average, it’s the best case out there for the PW5, even beyond Amazon’s own cases (which suck). In second place are the Kannil cases, which are slightly thicker. It protects the screen, the fabric outer material is classy, has a very study stand, and has a grip strap. Checks all 4 of these boxes. It just feels more quality. And the manufacturing seems mostly original; you won’t find any clones of this specific design, even though its parts are clearly used in other cases too (e.g. the plastic housing for the Kindle itself). The case weighs 164 grams. This makes it heavier than the worst cases (which are around 120g). This can make it harder to hold for long periods, but the weight is worth it.The inner lining is not microfiber like most cases, but a rubberized material. Easier to clean, but I’m not sure if it’s as friendly on the plastic screen of the PW5. Plastic on plastic may not be the best idea over time, but I haven’t had a problem yet.The strap is elastic. I worry the elastic will become loose over time, but until then I’ll keep using it. The strap is higher than optimal; it should ideally be lower for best center of gravity holding. Even though it’s on the left side, your right hand fingers will reach it from the right side. Or you can hold it with a left hand, both work to varying degrees.I don’t use the cardholders since the cards will make contact with the Kindle screen if I do, probably scratching it over time. The cover magnetically attaches to the back of the case as well as the front, though the back action isn’t as strong as the Kannil case, but the front action is quite stronger.I went for the gray fabric but I’m a guy. Girls might like the pink, which looks even better. I wish they had different fabric colors, since the colors right now are very boring. Like a canary yellow or warm red would go over really well in the fabric. The plastic casing for the Kindle itself is plain black; this should match the color of the fabric (so it should be gray for the gray fabric cover) but right now doesn’t and takes away from the beauty of the whole cover.Overall, best PW5 case in a market that’s lacking good options. Ideally, an origami case would work best, but there are no good origami cases for the PW5 as of July 2022, so this is great. High quality, sturdy, good looking. Could be improved by coming in other classy colors and using colorful ABS plastic for the Kindle case to match the cover.

Nice and firm cover, made Kindle feel like a book
The texture of the case is beautiful. Be sure to check your version of Kindle to make sure it fits. This is a very high-quality case. As a life-long book nerd, the fact that the case made the Kindle very sturdy without being heavy, made it feel more like a book, which was a welcome addition to my experience. It's a refined-looking case and very easy to hold.

A little to heavy for me
It a little heavy and awkward for me to hold. I do like the stand when I can use it. I don’t like the strap. My hand is very small and the strap is too tight. It hurts to use.

Looks great, does the job, but not so good for one-handed reading
It's lovely when closed! It feels nice and secure. Kickstand works well. Looks great, too. If you're simply looking for a nice, minimalist case that protects your Kindle then this is not a bad option.Three stars because, in my opinion, it's not that comfortable to hold one-handed. It is a bit heavier than I'd like for it to be, but that's more of a matter of personal preference I suppose. Apart from that, I'm not such a big fan of the (pseudo) leather "hinge" that connects the base to the cover. It is flimsy and has a lot of slack to it. So when you hold your kindle one-handed using the strap provided at the back, the leather hinge can't support the weight of the device so it "sags" (see picture). There is a magnetic mechanism that is supposed to prevent this, however the magnet is too weak to support the weight of the Kindle. I find myself having to support my Kindle using my other hand to prevent the sagging, defeating the purpose of one of the Kindle's biggest advantages over traditional books which is one-handed reading.

Good for left handers, not so much right handers
I got this when I upgraded kindles because I had a similar one for my old one that I loved. The issue I’ve had with this one is the hand strap is on the opposite side so if you are right handed and like to do one handed reading with the strap it’s very uncomfortable to use. HOWEVER if you are left handed it would be a great option

Nicely priced, durable and attractive.
And light too.
