Needs a 3/8" screw on the plate. Not strong enough for caged cameras with monitors.
Had high hopes as I love their matte box. Was hoping this baseplate would complete the rig bc my previous baseplate was below the minimum height of my matte box. My camera cage requires a 1/4" and a 3/8" screw, this baseplate only takes 1/4". Pretty sad considering this is aimed to be a prosumer cinema rig. Nobody just has their camera on there.

Works as designed, very sturdy
Excellent solution for long lens support with cage & monitor setups. Be sure to purchase a quick release plate to make mounting your rig a snap.

Better than I expected
Anyone who does tripod photography with a DSLR knows the modern heavy zooms throw the camera off balance, allowing vibration during shooting. Rails that support the front of the lens are a major part of the answer. This is my third and absolute favorite. Light, strong, fast to use, both the mount and lens support can be adjusted forward and back – and the lens support can be easily raised and lowered. Five stars because it is exactly what I was looking for, perfect for the field. Some might want a quick release, others a bean bag for plunking on top of the camera for even more stability. Now if I could only fold it up and put in in my vest poset…

Light and highly useful
Wow! Great base plate for smaller camera / DSLR. I love the lens stabilizer too because putting a 135mm lens on an A7S II creates a lot of wobble when racking when the lens is not secure. It is super light too!

Solid set of rails at a great price. Just what I needed without spending stupid money on "pro gear" as this does all its meant too at a tenth of the cost.

good plates, bad rod threads
great base plates, however the rod threads don't fit the standard for all the others 😟 i had to get new 15mm rods

Solid Rig Base
I got this to go along with the DP500IIS follow focus, what a sturdy combo they are. No joke, this unit could be considered a little heavier than pro units and you could complain it doesn't have a quick release but I knew this before I bought it and have no problems with that. I like the security of having the camera locked solid to this rail. I use it with a manfrotto head and it is super tight, no play or flex. I'm Fotga's newest fan, there's cheaper out there but you get what you pay for and this price isn't bank breaking for me.

Great
Great product but the paint scratches very easily. High quality and works fantastically though.

fotga dp500 nice support system
well made, fit for the purpose, attaching the camera is a bit tricky, may upgrade to the quick release plate

Unless you already have a cage or a quick release that fits this system you can't attach a camera - useless
Urna Semper Instructor’s Name Course Title November 27, 2014International Modern ArchitectureThis just arrived today - although it looks constructed well - there are no instructions - no way to attach camera - It seems after doing some Googling that the quick release attachment is sold separately - Like others- I am pretty much positive that it originally had quick release in the title of the product. Anyway, after waiting 3 weeks to get this so I can start setting up my rig, I now have to hunt down an attachment to mount my camera. This is pretty ridiculous. Even if there is not a quick release included - there should at the very least be a way of attaching your camera. Very disappointed.

Great rail system
Great rail system, very affordable. If you tighten it too much you can scratch the paint, but it doesn't affect the slide of it. Ships fairly slowly from this seller, but arrived well before the estimated date.
