Really good product that actually works! Left side is with half a bag of this added, other side is identical materials but no starter added.This is 2 weeks after adding in the starter. 2:1 carbon material to nitrogen material. PNW region. Start date 11/1/20. Added starter on left side of tumbler bin on 12/20.

I started my first outdoor compost pile this year after having some extra treated lumber sitting around.I figured it would be the perfect time since I started my leaf cleanup and it's been so dry, the leaves were easy to shred. I started my pile with leaves, some of the thatch from dethatching my lawn, and other kitchen and yard waste. Placed some of this started into the mix and added water. Not two days later, I returned to the pile to add more material and turn it and it's SMOKING (warm moisture rising from the inside of the pile) when I turn it!I placed the rind of a whole watermelon into the pile and it was gone 2 days later. DISINTEGRATED.I would definitely recommend this product.

I won't claim to be an expert when it comes to compost, but after sitting with a bin full of material for almost six months, I purchased this and added a bit of it to the mix. About six weeks later I checked the bin and it has changed into a nice black, soil like mixture. It seems to have worked just fine to help kickstart the process, so I'm happy with it.

I thought these starter things were a bunch of bunk. Stuff rots by itself all the time right? I made the beginners mistake of adding too many weeds and grass clippings in my composter. A liberal sprinkling of this and a bucketful of shredded cardboard brought my composter right back up to speed in a matter of days. Any time I feel like it needs a kick in the pants, I sprinkle in a layer of this and give it a good mix. Turns dark and crumby in no time.

We have had this growing mass of grass clippings. We also have areas of standing water every time it rains. So this year we have been putting the clippings in this areas of standing water. I put this product on right before it rains. And with in the week the clippings and water are both gone. So know we are starting to put the mass of grass in this areas of standing water. I hope by the end of the year we will not ant grass clippings not standing water. Like that this product is helping with both the grass clippings and the standing water.

This works really well and surprisingly quickly, at a reasonable price - a little goes a long way. I'd give it 5 stars but for the packaging: mine came in a cardboard box that was impossible to completely seal. As a home garden product that most folks won't use all at once, it should come in a moisture-proof, resealable container, say a wide-mouth plastic bottle with a screw top. This would also permit the easy use of a measuring spoon, if one were so inclined.

I was surprised how good it smells. It smells like fruity wood and a little bit minty. I used it in a 5 gallon bucket and mix the product with my kitchen trash from cooking. So far I have not getting any compost tea yet. But today is the day three, and I can see the filling is some how reduced in half. I believe the enzyme or whatever is working in the bucket right now. The best part so far is that it smells really good, can totally use it indoors.

This stuff is awesome, I've used two bags and just bought a third. I get about 15 - 20 gallons of raw "bad" produce a week from a grocery store and have been able to turn over the raw material to finished material ready for the garden in just over a month and this product really helps get my "heap" going, I got up to 120 degrees in less than 24hrs!!
