Pros and cons
I have the 20 gallon jbj cubey. I use it for frehwater. I like it, but it took some getting use to. I do feel that the built in filter takes room away from the tank itself. Also, the return portion of the pump area (not really sure what to call it) constantly evaporates, but the main part of the tank stays full. The only way to keep that part of the tank level where it needs to be, is to top off the water every 2-3 days. You'll know when it needs water because the output puts out way too much air bubbles making it look as if there are white particles in the tank. Being that the water level doesn't lower in the main tank, the only way to put in a breeder box is if it has a lid on it. Otherwise the fish could just swim right out. LEDs are built in, so I'm really not sure how I would replace them if there is ever an issue. It did come with everything you need including a carbon media bag, which I threw out because no matter how much I rinsed it, the water remained black. The mesh bag it was in also had a hole in it, and some how the dust from the crabon was all through the tank. I put the whole tank in the shower, to rise it out. It also came with a net, thermometer, gravel and glass cleaner, and an auto siphon pump, which was a surprise. However, I would only recommend the cubey if space is an obstacle, as it was for me. It's my second tank, for my bedroom, so I needed certain dimensions and the cubey fit perfectly.
