This deep frame hive box came well coated with beeswax and surprisingly dovetailed joints instead of box joints! With clamps it went together smoothly and nails or screws were really unnecessary.Slightly undersized in width by 1/4”.

Will it work, yes. Is it quality, not really.1. Brood box wood is so soft the screw almost went through the wood on the second most sensitive drill setting. Looks like pine, not cedar.2. The wax coating is extremely thick which makes the dove tail impossibly difficult to fit together. Dove tail split when using a rubber mallet to tap together.3. Wax Foundation are black in color and has a chemical, out gassing smell. Thought it was supposed to be the yellow/cream color kind.4. Frames are fine5. Heavy. Can only imagine how heavy this will be to move full if it already is 3x the weight of my other brood box while emptying. Wax coating is extremely heavy.6. Should get the job done. More hassle to return than worth the effort.

Components fit together nicely. pre-drilled holes make for easy assembly. The box uses screws versus nails to ensure it is strong and secure.
