Jiusion USB Digital Camera, exceeded expectations!
I took a chance on this Jiusion USB digital camera from the many to choose from out there. Nearly all seemed to have mixed reviews regardless of cost, either being very positive or very negative. A couple audiophiles reported using this camera with good results, so I ordered this one. Received this today. Plugged USB cable into my desktop, was quickly recognized, and pulled up the Windows 10 native camera app. No issues. For the price, this camera does the job for what I need it for. Not lab quality but very acceptable and recommended.Update… They raised the price from $24 to $34. Humm… Also, while I’d still buy this again, like other reviewers have stated, I call “BS” on the 1000X power side. Its more like 100X, but that works for what I need this camera for.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR WINDOWS 10
INSTRUCTIONS FOR WINDOWS 10: This product will not work for windows 10 unless you change the webcam driver for the device. Here are the steps I followed to make it work successfully. 1. Install all software you receive in the box (miniCD) and the Amcap.exe program. Typically there will be a driver error for the microscope when you try to use it with the Amcap program. 2. With the microscope plugged into the USB port go to your computer settings (control panel). 3. Click on the "devices" option. Scroll down to "Related Settings," and click on "Devices and Printers." A new window populates. You should see the microscope under "Devices." My computer labeled it as "USB 2.0 UVC PC Camera." Click the microscope's icon to open the properties menu. 4. In the Properties window click on the "Hardware" tab, click on the button in the bottom right labeled "Properties." That opens another properties window (hang in there, we have a ways to go) where you will need to click on the "Change Settings" button in the bottom left hand side with an Admin symbol. That opens the same properties window but now you can make changes. 5. Now click on the "Drivers" tab at the top of the window. Click the button labeled "Update Driver." You will receive a prompt reading "how do you want to search for drivers?" click the second option "Browse my computer for driver software." In the next window click on the second option labeled "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer." FINALLY, you will see a list to chose from. The driver that came with the microscope, GL USB 2.0 UVC Camera Device, does NOT work. Click on the item labeled "USB Video Device." Update using that driver and it should successfully install and the microscope should work with the Amcap application. This product is what it seems, a cheap but effective microscope. But it does have quite a bit of magnification and works great for observing small objects in detail... just don't expect to see protein chains in a helix of DNA. I use it for mineral collection an it is a great way to avoid spending hours squinting through a jewelers loop.

easy to use and works great
For as little as this costs, it works beautifully. Just plug into a USB port on your computer, start the Camera app, and you're off and running. Comes with base and mount, so focus is easy. Magnification is adjusted with a thumbwheel on the device itself. Takes great images and videos. Includes a light on the end of the camera.

Great Microscope for the money!
This scope is sufficient for my needs. Great value for price. Initially wouldn't work on my HP Windows 10 laptop. It would only see the laptop camera. I uninstalled AMCAP software, then unplugged the scope. I then plugged the scope in again, the OS picked up on a new USB item plugged in, and enabled the scope using the generic Windows driver. I then ren AMCAP.exe and selected the USB Camera. Now the system recognizes unit, and it works good.I gave it 4 stars because it should have been more Plug N Play. Also the zoom function doesn't allow for very close proximity to the subject, preventing the use of the higher end of the available range of focus/magnification for most close ups. And at the high end of magnification, the picture begins to pixalate, which indicates most of the magnification comes electronically, not from expensive optics.Over all, this is a very good value for the money. I'm happy with this scope, and would buy it again.

Kids toy.
Pros: it does work. And seems to have a good quality picture when in focus. Also works out of the box with VLC Video player. Quality seems to be reasonable for the price. Although the stand is quite poorly made. But you get what you pay for.Cons: I could only get it to work at 640x480 resolution. working distance is approximately 1". Not enough space for anything more than inspection purposes. The depth of field is very short. This means that something in the foreground will be in focus but something slightly further away will be out of focus. Refresh rate is slow, Extremely noticeable. Although I did not actually time it, it appears to be approximately 1/4 to 1/2 second delay. Also I could not achieve the full zoom range. With the microscope flat against the subject, I still had approximately one quarter turn of the zoom dial. This is with the protective lens removed. And I highly recommend removing this protective lens before using, the lens can distort the image. Also, this product is not for small kids. There are a few parts on the stand that tended to work loose, Possible choke hazard for small kids. Conclusion: this microscope will work fine for inspection purposes. Coins, stamps, reading numbers on small electronic parts or something similar. But don't plan on using it for much more than that. It is basically a kids toy. I recommend it for kids 8 years and up. But supervision may be necessary for younger kids. If you're looking for microscope to do electronics or jewelry work, keep looking. This microscope is not suitable for such tasks.

A working digital microscope.
I initially had quality issues, but this was addressed by a replacement sent free of charge. The software is still not fantastic but it won’t be for the price. A working digital microscope.
