I am a Land Surveyor in South Florida and I normally use the Pentel GraphGear 500 pencils for my notes. However I do take my field book with me and sometimes I drop the pencil and if it lands on the tip, it bends and unless you can bend it back, you’re stuck. But these have the option to retract the tip when not in use so if these fall, they’re fine. And other pencils that retract the tip are usually wobbly and not as clean and smooth to write with. The tips on these are firm and don’t move side-to-side at all. Great pencils and also the case is nice too.

This set comes with the nifty convenient soft pencil / telephone case. This case goes for about $20 by itself. This set contains exactly what the Gift Set , in a cardboard package, does for $2.50 more.I have been seeing these Pentel mechanical pencils toughed as the the very best for woodworkers for years now. All over the best YouTube channels. Even though they expensive, everyone says they are the best bang for your buck, especially for woodworking. They fit perfectly into the precision layout tools for marking setups. I think they are a great buy.

I'm illustrating my first children's book and find these very useful for outlining different parts of the page.

In my opinion, the graphgear 1000 is the best pencil out there. No other pencil I've tried even comes close. I'm used to using only the 0.7 lead size, so I was excited to try out this pack and the other lead sizes. All the pencils came in perfect condition and the case is really handy.
