Plug'n'Play
Just got this in and it worked right away. Plug and play on a Z790 MB running Windows Server 2022 with an i9-13900K.

Perfect for my needs
The Internal PCI Express SAS/SATA HBA RAID Controller Card with the SAS2008 chip has been perfect for my setup! I've had no issues with PCIe passthrough, which is a huge plus. The X8 interface and 6Gb/s speeds deliver solid performance, similar to the SAS 9211-8I. While the fan isn't necessary for my use, it might be useful for those pushing their setup harder. Overall, a fantastic choice for anyone looking to improve their storage capabilities!

Easy Setup and No Issues.
This card is allowing me to run and create an UNRAID server. I am using this to connect the HDs to the MB. I am using Iron Wolf 4 - 10 TB HDs. Everything is working correctly and was an easy setup. No issues so far!

Works perfectly. No need to to replace the BIOS even if you do not want RAID functionality. The production quality is very high, too. I was amazed. I use it with 12 year old motherboard with Intel Core 2 (Sandybridge) CPU. it works well. Works out of the box on Arch Linux. No need any driver

The product in itself is fine. It does not take a lot of space in thickness (1 pci slot thick overall). The only problem I encountered is that the firmware loaded on the card from factory was LSI sas2008 version P20.0.0.0, which is not the latest. Version P20.0.0.0 is known to cause problems with some file systems, notably zfs (unraid, freenas, etc). What is surprising is that the latest firmware available for this chip (9211-8i) is P20.0.7.0 (as of December 2020), and dates back to March 2016..... So I would have expected the card to come loaded with it... Anyways, unRaid was throwing a lot of hard drives errors when writing to disk with the card in the original factory P20.0.0.0 firmware, but once I upgraded to P20.0.7.0, all errors magically went away, and everything has been perfectly fine since. I haven’t seen a single error from unRaid since. For anybody reading this, and wondering how to upgrade: just follow online instructions to flash a Dell H200 or H310 to IT mode. There are plenty of guides out there. Just make sure you get the latest firmware from Broadcom’s website though (as some guides offer files, but are quite dated). Now that everything is working fine with the card, I have 0 complaints: it does what it says on the box, and just works. The fact that it’s an LSI chip really helps, and is actually a much wanted thing: it is widely compatible with most/all OS systems without the need for finicky drivers and endless web searches: you just plug it in, and it works. Now let’s see how long the card will last: The LSI chip isn’t the only thing on the card: the build quality, and the peripherals selection around the chip are usually what plays a bigger role in a card’s longevity... but so far so good for me. (and I have not stumbled upon a 10Gtek card early failure online so far either, so I am optimistic for the future).
