Excellent quality and versatility.
I am very happy with this monitor. No problems with delivery or installation -- it started right up with no issues. The monitor has excellent connectivity (HDMI, DVI, VGA) and great quality and at a good price. I could have used two HDMI connections, but probably that is too much to ask for at this price. The monitor works well as either a small HDTV or a PC monitor. The speakers are pretty basic, as one would expect, but they are good enough to watch HDTV, or tell what the PC is up to, or listen to a CD at low fidelity. Sound quality is better than a laptop. One nice thing is the monitor is not bulky, and you can't even tell the monitor has speakers just by looking at it. The earphone jack works fine -- I had no issues like others have suggested. It does seem to cut out the monitor speakers when you a stereo plug in, like it should, but you could also just turn the monitor volume down if it did not. For about $45 you can add excellent sound if you plug a 2.1 PC speaker system with a subwoofer into that 3.5 mm earphone jack. The best sound quality and volume is achieved by going HDMI from the PC or TV cable box to the monitor. If instead you send video to the monitor via DVI or VGA cable and then take the sound from the PC using a 3.5mm audio cable, you will find that sound volume and quality are diminished, whether you route it through the monitor or not.

PS3 & Xbox Gaming Monitor FANTASTIC!
Very good product for my use. Very happy!I did not buy this to use as a PC monitor but rather as a gaming monitor. My husband and I are hobby gamers and we have been for years participating in gaming tournaments with friends. 4-8 gamers usually all gathered into 1 house each with there own Xbox or PS3 & a screen of some sort to play on. Most of our friends would connect there systems to a small television, a jerry rigged laptop monitor and one guy even used a portable 10" DVD player with an input. A friend mentioned he bought a monitor from an office liquidation sale with HDMI & with audio. After bringing it over I have never seen Assassin's Creed 3 look so nice and on such a small screen that was so easy to pack up! It was brilliant! His was an Asus 19" so I decided to go look for a monitor for myself! This monitor has everything that I need. And I am very happy with it but I will provide point by point pros and cons.Pros- Large 21.5" screen with clear HD picture via not included HDMI- Easy to access buttons on bottom of monitor.1. Can easily access Viewing Mode, Sound, Brightness & Full Menu2. Comes with an easy to understand user manual if you cannot figure out the buttons in almost every language you can imagine- Has Video Presets for plenty of color, contrast & brightness settings. Standard, Theater, Game, Night View,sRGB & Scenery.- Has HDMI input & Earphone Jack which are essential for gaming. Not many monitors have HDMI at this price.- No problems connecting to any HDMI device. PS3, Xbox 360, PC, laptop PC, Direct Tv, DVD & BluRay all worked with no problems.- The Base assembled with no tools. Pops together and locks with a metal pin.- The screen tilts up and down very easily.Cons- Volume is very low. We use headphones for gaming uses so in that sense it does not matter much but these speakers are not very strong at all.- The monitor buttons to control Volume & Brightness were a bit confusing at first. The Down arrow is for Volume and the Up arrow is for Brightness so to turn the volume Up you would hit the down arrow button and then use the up arrow. Hitting the up arrow would turn up the brightness. You need to tell the unit you want to either use volume or brightness and then you can arrow up or down with either button.- The microphone jack and headphone jacks are pretty close together. The jack in front is the headphones and the jack in the back with the green outline is the microphones.- I had trouble telling if my monitor was on because the blue light at the bottom corner of the unit is kind of buried and in bright sunlight doesn't look like it is lit. Blue is on Red is off but I wasn't sure at first.I highly recommend this product.IF YOU WANT A SMALL TV but the prices are too high &you just want to connect DVD or a PS3/Xbox360 THIS IS FANTASTIC!

Great monitor for gaming
There are a few reports of dead pixels and defective units, but I'm happy to say the monitor I received a couple days ago was in perfect condition. The screen is perfect- it's wide, far wider than my last screen, and I'm running it at a resolution of 1980x1080. I'm a gamer (what I'd consider a "Hardcore" gamer, in that I'm very specific about building my own computer and picking the proper hardware), and was worried that I wouldn't be able to find a monitor that would fit my needs. This one fits them perfectly. It's sleek and stylish, with glossy surfaces (which are good and bad, as they can scratch rather easily if you aren't careful) and some buttons that I'm too scared to press because I don't know what they do. This monitor also has speakers, but as I play with a pair of fancy turtle beach headphones, I don't see a need to use it. I have heard (from other reviewers) that the built-in speakers are pretty much worthless, so if I were you I wouldn't buy this thing because you read it had speakers. Again, I can't offer my personal opinion on them because I have not (and do not plan to) used them yet.Now that I've gotten all the good out of the way, I'll move on to the bad things, which are very few in number. I have only two major complaints. First, you can't raise or lower the screen. This, for me, is a rather big deal. You can tilt it, but only a little. Due to the fact that this thing has a poor viewing angle, it can be difficult to find a good spot on your desk for this without some space adjustments (my desk is a mess, so perhaps I can't pin my messy habits on the screen). The inability to raise or lower the screen brings me to my second complain, which is that the HDMI port (and, from what I've seen, all the other ports) is underneath the screen. The monitors I've had in the past did the same thing, but they were on the BACK of the monitor, raised up, so that there was more room for your cords. This is not the case with this monitor. As I have not had many newer monitors in the past, I do not know if this is considered the norm or not. If you have a thick HDMI (or other cables) cable, good luck getting it to stay safely and securely plugged in without bending or breaking the pins.Oh, and as an afterthought, that instruction manual (if you can call it that) is totally worthless- it makes no sense. This might be an ASUS thing though, so again perhaps I can't complain about it in this one specific case (I've only had one other ASUS product before, my motherboard, and the handbook for that was very well done)All in all, this is a great monitor, and I would recommend it to anyone whose monitor budget is around 150 bucks- I don't think you can find many better options than this. To summarize my points..Pros-Nice features, although the manual is absolutely worthless in teaching you how to use them.-Sleek, modern look.-Speakers. Although I haven't used them, I know most monitors I've had in the past don't have built-in speakers.-Beautiful resolution, very high definition indeed.-Easy to setup- in my case, I didn't find it necessary to fiddle with any menus or options, I just plugged it in right away and it worked perfectly with my brand new video card.Cons-Easy to scuff the monitor's surfaces.-Cable ports on the far bottom of the monitor, resulting in potential bending of important cords or pins unless you elevate the monitor on something like a stack of books (I'm too paranoid to raise my monitor more than needed)-Can't raise or lower the monitor, only tilt.-Awful instruction manual.

Brilliant
I got this monitor a while back and I wanted to give it some time before writing this review. This monitor has be brilliant for me and I can't find a single fault with it, I bought it for gaming, watching YouTube videos and a little bit of photo editing. After having used it for over a month now I can safely say this is one of the best monitors for the price on the market. Probably end up buying a second.

great value for money
Was great value for money, no complaints about the monitor. The build is a bit cheap but I was looking for the cheapest alternative of that size and it delivered.

Good for the price
This is a good all-purpose monitor. I use it as a monitor in my truck for movies and casual gaming. The integrated speakers are OK at best if you have no other alternative but it has an output for headphones/external speakers. The monitor is made from a shiny black plastic which means that it is a real fingerprint magnet and it is really easy to scratch. I was careful but after a week of using it I already have a big scratch on the bezel.
