How do you poach eggs? Is there a cup the egg goes in?

sorry but i have not try that feature but the instructions are to puncher the top of the egg with the gadget cup you received. it has a sharp point on the bottom. be care - it is sharp. you will have work on the perfect time for cooking.

Is the pot dishwasher safe?

You can probly use reg filters and yes the pot is dish washer safe
