Made a beautiful backpack. It’s a great beginner item to practice your stitching skills. Easy to follow instructions. Came with everything you need including hardware.

Would I buy this as is for its intended purpose? NOWould I reccomend this for any budding leathercrafter who has at least a handful of projects under their belt? ABSOLUTELY...just make sure you take some creative liberties like I did and be sure to replace all the hardware.As the description literally says, it's a DIY "PU Leather" kit so people should not be shocked that it's not real leather. But I did NOT purchase this for it's intended purpose, I instead used it as a template for leather crafting because I'm not skilled enough with leather to completely come up with something like this on my own (yet). Typically acrylic templates of this caliber cost well over $40, so spending about $22 for this as a template is well worth the money. Mine came with instructions that are easy to follow.The front to back depth was smaller than i wanted. I took the following creative liberties:-Made the front to back depth of main compartment about 1/2 inch bigger. Also inside the main compartment i used soft leather to instal a 3 slot card holder, a pen holder, and towards the bottom a shelf pocket.- For the front compartment I made an accordion styled soft leather side and bottom walls that were long and narrow triangles. The effect yielded the top part opening farther than the bottom so you could actually fit a hand in there.-Added D rings to the sides-Purchased seperate hardware (included hardware us low quality)-Created single curved triangle peice to the upper back of which I will be attaching a strap to with rivets.-Added additional peice of leather on the underside of the handle.The back piece was 6-7oz leather, all other leather was 4-5oz and the soft leather components described above were 3-4oz

I have been doing leathercrafting for years now and the material that you get is NOT LEATHER! I have worked extensively with PU leather (Pull Up leather). I don't know what this material is. I have no choice but to leave only 1 star to inform other customers.However, this material is strong enough to use as a template to make this in real leather. I still am leaving a 1 star for false advertising.

I wouldn’t say that it looks bad, just obviously fake. I was rather hoping that I could finish the kit for my own use.The stitching holes are spaced roughly twice as far apart as they should be on leather. My suspicion is that is intentional as this fake leather is not nearly as wear-resistant as real leather. There is no way to finish and burnish the edges, and the straps are far too narrow to hold up.Please be aware that this is polyurethane polymer - that is where the PU comes from. It has nothing to do with a hide. Indeed; sometimes it is advertised as "vegan leather". It comes out of a chemical vat.This will not last under usage and wear.

It is hard to put together since there is no instructions but it’s easy to just line up holes and reference the product photo and it comes together. Love the bag.

The media could not be loaded.  Not a bad kit to learn on. Really simple. Kind of an odd size to use for anything. Comes with everything you need. Not real leather. The straps aren’t cut the best and need to be trimmed. Came out nice. Instructions are so so. Happy overall. Tip, pull the stitching tight on long stitches. Any loose parts you’ll regret. (See pic) Thats my fault.

This bag is smaller than I expected, I will not purchase it again at this price.
