Barley water is renowned in "knowing" circles, for it's tendency to create faultless complexions. Some of the MOST famous beauties have used this beverage -- the company, Robinson's, was, as stated on their label, founded in 1823! At least 2 generations -- probably many more -- of world-famous English beauties have used it. (A hint as to who these beauties are, and were, is on the back label of the bottle.)I had heard of the value of barley water from a thin red book, which sadly has disappeared during the intervening years. I almost didn't buy this barley water, as I was afraid of a pebbly consistency. However, I bought it and I am very glad I did! The barley here is barley meal...very finely ground, and in any event, only 2% of the contents. It tastes quite smooth and delicious when you drink it, either hot or cold. And this 33.2 ounce bottle is a CONCENTRATE! The label directions suggest one part Robinson's Barley Water to four parts of water -- more water if it is given to young children. These directions make emminent sense, as barley is often used in the manufacture of whisky. No -- I doubt that anyone could ever get drunk from barley water...because the barley is un-fermented. Still, the barley maes this otherwise lemonade-concentrate quite -- or even middling --strong stuff. A little goes a long way.So, I'd recommend this for everyone. Those who wish to have clear and radiant skin, to those who will not drink alchol, and for those who like lemonade. As I haven't researched this product other than tasting it, I am sure there are many benefits to it that I have missed. Yes, it does have some preservatives...but these are kept to a bare minimum in the content. The benefits of barley water should be better known, especially in the USA. Robinson's Barley Water seems to be the very best! Don't forget to dilute it..and drink it for your health, for good taste, (it's good taste -- and yours!), and for tge legendary benefit of totally beautiful skin!

Talk about a new twist on lemonade
Might I be the first to suggest trying this mixed with club soda, sparkling/seltzer water or even ginger ale for to create an interesting new twist on sparkling lemonade. Amd while the taste may take some getting used to in American contexts (especially the barley flour and the inherent tartness), it should come out all the more interesting.

This has sodium metabisulfite and saccharin.
I intended to use this product to help with keeping up with my hydration. My GI system was wrecked for two days. I bought 3 bottles and only used about an ounce all together. WOW! This was a horrible and at times painful experience. Do not buy.

I use this to sweeten my iced tea plus to give it extra flavor. It makes for a refreshing drink especially on a hot day.
