Great for mocktails and violet flavored treats!
I LOVE violet flavored treats and mocktails, and this is perfect! Love the color and the violet flavor. Add a splash to some sparkling water and you have yourself an elegant beverage.

Great taste
A friend had me try violet candy and it made me wanna try other things with that flavor. It's very easy to mix and I love making violet lemonades with it. It's got a lovely refreshing taste that I don't find floral despite it being a flower syrup. It came in a very sturdy glass bottle and I would definitely purchase again.

MY VIOLET OBSESSION
OMG I am so in love with the flavor of violet! I first discovered it in CHowards Violet Mints, then I graduated to Monin Violet Syrup. I love this most in iced green tea as a subtle sweetener, and the heady aroma always just makes me smile all over. It's tremendously difficult to find violet ANYTHING these days, and I can't find this flavor in a store near me. I ordered it first from Taylors Market, in Sacramento. I live a half hour away! When I emailed them to ask if I could come in and pick it up, my emails were ignored. And it took a week to deliver. So, I ordered three more bottles from another seller, Gabriella Gifts, which is back east. Within half an hour my order was marked as "shipped" but it is five days later and I'm unable to track the package. I also got a refund for one bottle, all they had in stock was two bottles, even though the website said they had six. I feel there is a conspiracy to keep Monin Violet Syrup away from me. Why is it so hard to get? It's made in Florida, for cryin' out loud, not like they have to export it from Timbuktu or something. I even tried emailing Monin but they must think people who like violet don't need to be regarded as important enough to respond to. (?) I just love it so and it's so hard to get. I can't help but wonder why, because it is so INCREDIBLY delicious!EDIT/UPDATE: I have succeeded in finding a local store to stock this for me! Nugget Markets, in Northern California, has been gracious and wonderful to persuade a supplier to get this for me. Now I can just buy it at a normal price, no shipping charges and the local taxes I pay go into my community. It's all Good!

Great taste
It’s a bit similar to the violet candy I love . I got this to create the aviation cocktail but I also got the crème de violet as well to compare that I got from the local BevMo . This syrup is pretty tasty , but IMO has a bit of a “berry “ flavor and the hue creates more of a purple/pink color compared to the crème de violet that is a blue/purple. I prefer the crème de violet for the aviation BUT this syrup is still very good and I like it for something like Water Lilly cocktail . I also liked this syrup in tea which surprised me. All in all I’d def buy this violet syrup again !

Expensive because imported but very good tasting
I am a fan of Violet syrup or Violet flavored candies.Growing up as a kid in France, we used to flavor our water all the time with syrups. When my father would take me to a cafe, I was always drinking Diabolo Menthe (Mint Syrup with Limonade (like Sprite)) or Diabolo Grenadine (Same as the Mint drink but with Pomegranate syrup). All of that to say that syrups have been a staple of kids growing up in France for decades. The benefit is that it encourage kids to drink more water, the con is that it makes kids consume more sugars than they should).I usually bring my own from France where it cost about 1/4 of the price in the USA.Here are the ingredients:- Pure Cane Sugar- Water- Natural flavors (Violet I presume)- Vegetable juices (for color). In comparison to another Violet Syrup I also drink from France:- Sugar- Water- Citric Acid- Natural flavor (Violet extract)- Concentrated Elderberry juice- Black colorant. Both are nice but the Monin appears to be using more natural products. How do you use it? It is very simple: you pour just a little bit at the bottom of your glass (the more, the sweeter the drink will get), pour water afterwards and enjoy it.In conclusion:It is very expensive for me at about $13 per bottle. However, you can still go a long way with 1l of syrup (You can make at least 5 Gallons of flavored water with it).5 stars.

Medicinal taste - not violet
I was looking forward to this syrup having an authentic violet taste. I already love their lavender syrup so much that I trusted the violet would be similar in an authentic taste. Not so much. I grew up loving the violet candies and the flowery taste but this syrup tasted like cherry flavored cough syrup. Very medicinal and chemical tasting with a bitter aftertaste. Absolutely disgusting. I can’t dress it up to mask the taste and will most likely pour it down the drain. I hate throwing away food but there’s no use for it. I can’t save it.I also noted the syrup came in a glass bottle, was poorly packaged and honestly it’s a miracle that it survived the trip. The box was pretty banged up and the two air bags that was included had popped. I’ve seen many reviews warning buyers that the bottle broke in transit and I believe it. I’ve already had it happen with their vanilla syrup and the seller makes it impossible to request a refund. I had to go through Amazon customer service with pictures of the vanilla syrup spilled all over the box.One last note, their plastic pumps DO NOT fit the glass bottles. They only fit the plastic ones and you never know what you will get. Their packaging seems to be pretty inconsistent. I will continue to purchase their lavender syrup but regret exploring their other flavors. Not worth the money if they will have poor customer service and are unwilling to refund for poorly packaged products.
