Nutricost D-Mannose Powder 100 Grams (50 Servings) - Non-GMO and Gluten Free

I purchased large 500 Gram jar and like others saw it was half full. Well I have accurate gram scale in fact very expensive one. Weighed product without scoop and preservative pack, it weighed 601 grams. Emptied container, container empty weighed 104 gram. So there was 497 grams of product which is 17.531 ounces. Container label says 17.6 ounces, 500 grams. So pretty accurate, did notice upon refilling it fluffed up about a half inch higher in container. Tap container several times and it settled back to shipping height. Hope this settles amount of product in container. It is an excellent product and great price. Love that it comes in jar container, some brands come in pouch and seal comes apart. Also there is a proper, proven way to take this product to be the most beneficial results. Will post in another review or question.

I have to intermittently cath each day and so I tend to run UTI's frequently, which is a constant problem. I rely on D-Mannose to help keep those under control. After trying more expensive D-Mannose products by Pure Encapsulations, Progressive Labs, and Vibrant health, most recently I had been using the NOW brand. However the NOW brand has been less effective lately so I decided to try this. So far it has been working better and it even costs less (both are the same price but the Nutricost is 3.52 ounces VS. the NOW's 3 ounces).What is D-Mannose? (Feel free to skip this part if you know all this) D-Mannose is a sugar that is derived from fruits like cranberries, peaches, etc. and starchy vegetables like corn and potatoes. You mix the powder in a bit of water and drink (I do not recommend using juice). The powder is flavorless, but may add a bit of sweetness to the water. Once it reaches your bladder, the D-Mannose "sticks" to the bacteria and the resulting union gets flushed out.Notice I said "sticks" - D-Mannose will not KILL the bacteria like an antibiotic. Also note that D-Mannose will only work for certain types of UTI bacteria - mainly e-coli. Therefore if you try this and it does not help, you may still need to consult your urologist or GP for further help with your UTI.Otherwise I have noticed less urgency and bladder irritation with this product VS. the others I've tried. Whether that will remain the case, we shall see. But so far I like it better and have already ordered it a 2nd time.Final thing to Note: most D-Mannose is derived from (usually non-GMO) corn. If you have a corn allergy, please check with them and/or your doctor first, to make sure this will be suitable for you. Best of luck if you decide to try this one.

This is the perfect D-mannose powder. Absolutely no flavor but for a slight, pleasant sweetness when you use a full scoop, and it dissolves immediately upon contact with water. You don't even have to dirty a spoon to stir it up, that's how easily it dissolves. For months, I had been painstakingly breaking open capsules and mixing them into applesauce (I can't take pills bigger than a Claritin... Advil if I'm lucky) and this is so much easier. And cheaper! No D-mannose product is going to taste particularly bad unless you really hate cranberry, but if you want to make it as convenient and unobtrusive as possible, get this one.
