3x3 Speed Cube, 3x3 Cube Puzzle Education Toys

This is a set of very well manufactured cubes that include the classic 3x3x3, an easy to solve 2x2x2 and two larger cubes. The cube is well lubricated and its pieces move smoothly at least fo one year after it was purchased. We did test it for one year so far and I will be glad to update this review as the test continues. During that year, all four cubes were regularly beaten up by being carried in my son;s school bag without apparent wear off.We recommend starting with learning how to solve the classic 3x3x3 cube. In the unlikely case, it turns out to be too difficult one can always downgrade. I personally found it interesting to solve a 2x2x2 for the first time based on my knowledge of how to solve 3x3x3 without referring to any additional instructions. The cubes come with short instructions how to solve them. However, more detailed and alternative ways to solve them can be found on the Internet. After some practice solving 3x3x3 several times and memorizing the moves it's time to try 4x4x4 and 5x5x5. 4x4x4 can be solved similarly to 2x2x2, and 5x5x5 similarly to 3x3x3 but some additional moves are needed. I never managed to find time to memorize how to solve those two without looking at the instructions. However, my 13-year-old son picked those up easily. It's been a year now since he was introduced to cubes and he enjoys trying to learn how to solve larger cubes and cubes with a different number of elements in each dimension.So the bottom line is that the cubes are durable and really very well made and yet are inexpensive. Great way to get into the hobby of cubing or to replace one;s old worn out cubes. Now after the collection of cubes includes additional odd shapes like 3x4x5 or 4x4x6, and relaxing 1x1x3 or 2x3x3, and larger 7x7x7 this set looks like a bargain. Our next acquisitions will have to ​become expensive. Very highly recommended!

Lightweight. Turns pretty smooth, love the vibrant colors.

When I was a kid many years ago, I fell in to the Rubik's Cube craze at the beginning....Back then I was over joyed solving the thing in under a minute. After seeing some youtube vids about speed solving, I decided I would order up a basic set of cubes and chose these. I think it was a good choice for someone who is basically a beginner again....All of these cubes turn better than the original Rubik's....I can't really tell you how they stack up to the best speed cubes of today, but I feel this set is a fantastic choice for getting in to cubing. Out of the box, they all turn well and look good. It may be because I am now an adult decades removed from my original experience, but the 3X3 feels smaller than the original Rubik's....Out of the box, the 2x2 was the "loosest" and best turning followed closely by the 3x3....The other two were pretty tight though the 4x4 could still be flicked easily enough. the 4x4 and 5x5 may have to be played with to loosen them up some.....I was amazed my memory of how to solve the 3x3 was still rolling around my brain after 30+ years....I'd took some trial and error, but I got it in a few minutes.....I hope to get down to a minute in a couple week and see if these 50 year old hands can do the current speed cuing style....if I can break 30 seconds, I will be ecstatic!

Shengshou is a great brand for beginners and we all know that. If you only want to learn how to solve these 4 cubes, then this is definitely a 5 star product choice for you, you can't beat the price, specially considering that a similar bundle with Rubik's brand's horrible cubes would cost thrice the price of this Shengshou bundle. If you're looking for a good speed cubing set, this is a good choice, but it won't get you that far either, that's why I rated 4 stars.The 2x2x2 is a little noisy and completely lacks corner cutting although it turns really nice. It is the worst cube of the bundle, definitely not a good speed cubing choice.The 3x3x3 turns nice and silent, but it blocks a little bit. It does cut corners but not much and it overall doesn't feel as agile and fast. It's ok, but if you're into speed cubing, you're gonna go for a Dayan or a Moyu sooner rather than later.The 4x4x4 is much better. It turns fast and smooth, and although it does not cut corners, it's ok because of how well it turns and how easy it is to handle. You can really do some speed cubing with this one, although it may not be the best. A couple of the corners' faces (not the complete corner piece, just one of their faces) popped out after some days of use, and it can be easily fixed with some glue, but come on, it shouldn't happen at all.The 5x5x5 is just as good as the 4x4x4. I feel like it even turns better than the 4x4x4, but to each their own.It's great what you can get in this bundle for just 19 bucks, but it's nothing otherworldly either.

Quite the hit in this house. We bought these for the kids but the adults are more entertained with them than the adults!! Makes for a great gift too!! I purchased them for my adult brother who travels a lot and it was a hit there too!!!Good quality. The plastic face pieces do pop off which is no biggie so long as an adult snaps it back into the correct position! Instructions are helpful once you become comfortable with them, YouTube is a great resource when first starting out!! Bought some cheap stands for them so they look cute sitting on the entertainment center encouraging others to play!
