Needs charging
a little too often. I was hoping that the way it attaches to the Surface Pro would be a charging connection but alas, it isn't. The charging line is a thin thing with a magnetic attachment on the keyboard, which won't stay in place unless you put something heavy on it to hold it there. Other than that I like the keyboard itself, it feels nice to type on and seems very durable.

Not bad for a basic keyboard
Not bad for a basic keyboard, but keep in mind that it does not have the integration connector for the Surface. This means that it is only a basic Bluetooth keyboard that happens to attach to a Surface. As a result, you will not have trackpad options in your settings nor does the manufacturer include any apps to adjust the behavior. Where this becomes a problem is that the trackpad will assume that any time you touch the edge of the pad, you are making a swipe gesture. For example, if you touch the top edge of the pad, it will assume you're doing a downswipe and will minimize the window. Very annoying.. And you can't disable this "feature".Here's my pro/con:Pros:1) Nice texture and appears to be quality materials2) Pairs easily through Bluetooth, also can pair to a phone, PS4, etc. Anything that takes a Bluetooth keyboard.3) Key feel is good, not too clacky, but not too soft, with a nice clicking.4) Has good features, trackpad uses two and three finger gestures, and there is a good array of shortcut keys.5) Good non-slip backing, keeps it nicely in place while typing.Cons:1) The charge cable is difficult to get centered, and comes off with the slightest touch.2) If you lose the charge cable, you're out of luck.3) Does not integrate with the Surface. This means there are no settings for the device.4) Always thinks you're making swipe gestures on the trackpad. Gets to be simply infuriating.5) Sometimes has difficulty waking up.6) Battery life is abysmally short (20-30 minutes)The verdict: I really can't recommend this product. If there was driver software that allowed the adjustment of settings for the trackpad, and if the power connector was not so flimsy, or at least moved to the top of the keyboard where it was out of the way, then it may get a good for random use rating. As it is though, do yourself a favor and wait for your next paycheck to get a cover with integration. You can tell it has integration from the six small connection dots between the magnets on the cover.

DO NOT BUY THIS KEYBOARD
I bought this keyboard when I bought my Surface as I needed a new laptop for university. In comparison to the "official" Surface type cover, this one was much less expensive, and the reviews were decent, so I bought it. Biggest mistake of a purchase I've ever made. From the outset, things were fishy. The box came and the labels were in very broken English. I shrugged this off because, well, maybe it came from a foreign company who didn't have a good translator. Setup was simple enough, the keyboard connected through Bluetooth. Started using it, no problems for the next few weeks. The keyboard would frequently "detach" from the computer and cause the computer to fall (once it fell so hard that it completely froze for several minutes, but I managed to resolve that so whatever.) Charging the keyboard (because it doesn't charge through the surface like the official one does) was a pain; it required its own special cable, which had a USB connection to the computer and then a magnetic connection to the keyboard, which was pretty unwieldy. Furthermore, if you forgot or lost the charger and you needed it, tough luck - you can't get it anywhere other than buying a new keyboard from the same seller (this happened to me during winter break.) Keys would frequently jam, touchpad would constantly "act up" by zooming in and out without me wanting to, not responding to my finger strokes, etc. I'm not a high-maintenance person, so I dealt with all the problems because 1) they never rendered the keyboard unusable and 2) I had saved quite a bit of money.Last month, THIS KEYBOARD COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING. I working on my computer when the keyboard kept disconnecting and reconnecting. I plugged in the charger, and it kept doing that. So I went into the Devices window of my computer and disconnected the Bluetooth keyboard (I would do this whenever I had a connection problem, which was relatively often.) The keyboard never again connected to my computer. In fact, I press the on button, and it doesn't turn on. My computer no longer recognizes it as a device. I tried charging it, the charging light does turn on, but nothing else changes. For a month now I've had to rely on the computers at the library due to this breaking.Long story short, don't fall for this scam. It's a cheap, low-quality product that won't last you very long. I tried to save money and I paid for it, having to buy two keyboards. I am now typing this from my new OFFICIAL Microsoft Type Cover, and I can already feel the difference.

Cheap is cheap.
The touch pad is sluggish and has an odd tactile texture. Charge port is on the face of the keyboard, in a terrible place such that it can't be used while charging. Avoid.

Great keyboard
I love it, very easy to set up and pair with my surface pro , but some comments said it came with a charging cable and some said it charged through the surface pro when attached . Do I need a charging cable? If so , where can I get one?
