Simply the best
I'm not sure where I was when I lost my mind, but somehow, I ended up with 9 cats. (they didn't reproduce) The cats give the 4 Claws scratching post 5 toe beans up. The most difficult part was trying to decide how high to hang it. The dilemma of needing it high enough for my big boys, and low enough for the tiniest of the girls. I've got a buff boy that latches onto the top, pulls his feet off the ground and places them on the wall (a paw on each side) and goes to town. Needless to say, he pulled the scratcher off the wall putting holes in the dry wall. Yes, it was attached with little anchors. So, I put it back up but drove the screws into the studs. Since it has become a permanent fixture in my home, I was so happy to find refills that are easy to switch out. All it takes is the loosening and tightening of 2 screws and it's all new again - so easy. These refills come with one in sisal and one in seaweed. Cat approved.

Make sure you actually buy the wall mount and not the refills!
I bought this to go under my dining table on a wall it's pressed against. The cat loved clawing the cloth on the chairs after her meals and I purchased this hoping to prevent future damage. She seems to prefer the post over the chairs! It took me all of 5 minutes to put up and this thing came with all the hardware it needed. I did choose to go with some heavier duty drywall anchors in the event one of my young children decide to hang off of it, but I think for most that the anchors this came with will be adequate.I had initially purchased the refills for this thinking that it would come with the wall mounted system. Do not make the same mistake as me! When I initially tried to purchase this item they were sold out of the wall mounted posts and didn't even show it as an option. It really threw me off as all the reviews I saw only talked about the wall mount. It was worth waiting for it to be restocked! I have no intentions of purchasing the refills and returned the set I mistakenly purchased. It is very easy and cheap to replace the sisal rope, just be sure to pick out an appropriate diameter rope and a $20 staple gun.

It works for my cat
Our cat is a strictly indoor cat. She is the first cat that I have ever kept indoors - it's been an experience. Indoor cats have needs that cats that are allowed outdoor-time do not have - in my experience. All of my other cats could be found grooming their nails and stretching their paws on the barks of pines or posts of wood fences. An indoor cat uses the furniture. Not a happy substitute. This scratching post is perfect. Sadly, we actually had to show her how to 'cat' by placing her paws on it once we had it up but she took to it right away.We attached it to a wall behind her favorite 'picking' chair - so that when the 'spirit moved her' - the post was right there. We hung it a little high so that she could get a good stretch in when she dug in.The girl is rather large so when she gets going its pretty impressive how much pressure she is exerting and yet the post doesn't waver. It's been a while and she is still using the post to the point that we will soon have to replace the sisal. I would definitely buy again and will. It's been a furniture saver for us.

4Claws wall mounted scratching post
This 4Claws scratching post is great. Easy to attach to the wall, it rotates, giving your cats more surface space to claw. You have to remember to place it high enough so your cats can stretch and scratch-about 6 or 7 inches off the floor, works great for each of my 22 cats. No matter their size. The order comes with 2 different replacement rolls, one has sisal rope, the other jute rope. We put up the sisal roll about 5 months ago and have waited to replace it until they went through the rope and into the cardboard part of the roll. Even though they've completely decimated it they have no trouble still happily scratching away. We'll probably replace it tonight. You will have sisal rope strands on the floor-directly under the roll and in an approximate 3 foot arc around it. So make sure you vacuum regularly. Hopefully you already have this replacement pack because I just tried to order this again, with at least one other base and found out it's no longer available. What a let down.

Sturdy, Replaceable, Easy
My girl had a problem scratching the edge of the stairs until I put this up. It quickly became her new favorite scratching post, and the attachment to the wall was solid. I love that I can replace the roll once she's destroyed the rope on it without having to re-mount the entire bracket.Would buy again.

Worked great for training a feral rescue...who then showed the others to use it!!
Got this to help adapt a feral cat rescue to his new room. I bought a reject door, cut out the lower panel, installed wire mesh, re-installed the lower panel on hinges w/latch, and attached this to the inside of the door, figuring he'd spend time at the door 'scratching' to get out. He did. He Got It....worked like a charm, and now he uses it every day, even teaching my other cat to use it. Once he's released to the rest of the house, I'll remount this on the other side of the door.I really don't like the idea of installing this on any of my finished walls, so will jury rig a board of some kind to run from trim molding to trim molding (half wall cap) and mount this to that for the final install.Nicely made, solid alum. bracket, easy to rotate (depending on how tight you attach it). Don't particularly like that it uses hex screw heads - the bottom one is a pain to insert the screw and tighten (with the supplied) key wrench. I'll probably replace both screws with knobbed/thumbscrews, in the meantime taped the *^% hex wrench to the top plate. If they allowed 1/2 stars, I'd take 1/2 star off for the hex wrench requirement :)Pretty decent deal for the price...AND the cats USE IT!!!

Everyday use for several months now
My cat uses this multiple times a day. I bought this several months ago now, and I haven't even had to spin it around! The scratching post on her cat tree in contrast, is looking like a hot mess after having it almost the same length of time prior to purchasing this one. This item is clearly better quality. It also acts as another fun play spot as my cat loses her mind if we put a toy on top of this thing, or wedge something in the space between the roll and the metal back for her to dig out. It's extremely durable and it's pretty low profile, its not a crazy color or anything that's going to detract from your home's aesthetic.
