The Judas Tree: A gripping new psychological thriller for 2022 from the author of The Haven

Moving story about childhood (boarding school) friendships and abuse
This is a story about two men who had been friends at school, a boarding school in which bullying and abuse was rife, and they are coming to terms with their childhood experiences as adults. The author has family members with personal experience of the subject matter which gives the story real depth and validity, and this element of the story is told so sensitively. The vulnerability of children shines through. It is also a psychological thriller AND a love story, and it's a real unputdownable pager turner. I thoroughly recommend.

Page-turner with a twist
This is a believable and dark story without being only full of nasty people (and children) doing nasty acts of violence. There are lighter patches of an everyday life that we might like to live or aspire to and the author balances many intimate family and friendship moments with storytelling that kept me wanting to find out who? what? why? …. right to the last pages. I’ve discovered there are more books to be read by Amanda Jennings - point me in their direction.

Brilliant and immersive
I think this might be the best of them all! Dark yet very accessible. The characters pull you in and the plot is deep, twisty, realistic and enticing. I never manage to go to bed ‘on time’ when reading one of Amanda Jennings fabulous books.
