This IS the headgear I was looking for
I've been boxing for a little over a year now. I recently wrote a review of another head gear that I purchased. That review was for the Title full coverage headgear and my review wasn't favorable. The fit was awkward. I've also used several other headgears for sparring in my boxing classes so I had an idea of how it should fit. I returned the title one and purchased this instead based on positive reviews and feedback at class. This gear DID NOT disappont by any stretch! The fit is great. The level of protection is awesome too. I've tried other headgears that seemed to soft and pillowy, and one gear that was so stiff that each shot I took felt harder. But this gear is perfect. It has cheek guards too which was a concern because I didn't want to be too exposed (as I do this for fun). The interior lining is really soft and adds to the comfort level. If I had any complaints it would be that the ear socket seems a little shallow so I really felt a good shot to the side of my head.Overall though, I love this piece of equipment.

Top Rated Headgear for less..
Great headgear. Not sure how it stacks up to the others, as it is my first purchase, but I can't see how any one of these things could be much better than this one. I've read reviews about offerings from "Winning", "Title", "Cleto Reyes", and more, but this set up seems as good as any; and for half the price! Rival makes good quality products too, and I trust the brand. This bad boy is cowhide leather, and has a buckle chin strap. Some prefer the hook and loop chinstrap so they can adjust with their gloves on. That's the one downside of this set (if you call that a downside). I don't mind it really. The buckle strap feels very secure and is comfortable. The inner lining is what I like most. They call it swede, but I don't know if it's that, or some microfiber like material. Whatever it is, it's awesome! It keeps the headgear on snug without moving around. Nice touch! I'd recommend this training headgear for both beginner, novice, and pro. I'm no pro, but hey, I really like the headgear! :)

Good, basic headgear.
This is a good, basic headgear. I have kind of a large head, so it gives me a headache when I wear it for too long. However, I've been using it for about a year now and it's holding up pretty well for sparring purposes. It doesn't cut down on vision. It is by no means attractive, but I guess that doesn't really matter.

Everyone in my son's boxing club love it. I did a research before buying it and it was between the top ten headgear of all times. Very stylish and comfortable. Highly recommended ..

I like it
Received the Rival Traditional headgear and it was easy to put on, easy to adjust, and it felt comfortable. Spared with it, and it was the best headgear I have every used so far. Stayed in place, did not move around when taking hard punches. Like in other posts I read, headgear does not take away the feeling of the punches, you will still feel the punches. But if you are tired of the cuts and scars on your face, it's best to wear headgear.

Great headgear
Amazing headgear as expected by good ol' Rival. You still "Feel" the punches, but don't get messed up so it doesn't take away from the reality of sparring.

Excellent Headgear
I was very pleased with this product.I have used headgear plenty of times (this is the 3rd I've owned, but have used a number of others at different gyms), but for me, the biggest issue has always been the balance between padding/visibility/and how well it will actually absorb damage.Typically, the headgear I have used has either been too big/obstructive or the headgear was too cheap/thin and didn't serve it's purpose well enough. I've seen other strong reviews for the Rival Headgear, so I gave it a try and found it to be the perfect balance (for me, at least). The headgear is light and fairly thin, but does a great job with absorbing damage and is barely visible in my peripheral vision.I would (and have) recommend this item to a friend.

Four Stars
Comfortable. Protects the ears well, which is nice. Vision isn't obstructed too terribly.
