Great for removing iron stains.
Worked very well when nothing else did. I've tried magic eraser, scrub brushes, sponges, every kind of cleaner imaginable, but nothing helped the Orange/brown water line in my toilet. This worked with a lot of elbow grease and Iron Out cleaner. Only disadvantage was it wore away quickly and I only got my sink and half the toilet cleaned with one pad. Ordered more to finish the job. Going to try on shower next.

Not useful
Was disappointed with this product . The handle is about 4” long which makes it impossible to use. The screen that is suppose to scrub is very inadequate. So not but this product!

Works as advertised - just add effort
This worked perfectly. We had already replaced a toilet when we bought this house because of the bad iron staining (house is served by a well that has extremely high iron content, among other deficiencies) that we couldn't get rid of no matter what we tried. Recently, our water treatment system malfunctioned and while it was out of order, I activated the bypass valves to feed water straight from the well into the house plumbing so at least we would have water while we waited for the repairs. Within days there were orange streaks down the side of the bowl, and an orange ring at water level. I didn't want to replace yet another toilet, so I ordered one of these. I gave it a "test tryout" before the treatment system was fixed, and it (and a little elbow grease) removed the worst streak. After getting our water treatment system fixed and the "iron water" was eliminated, I emptied the bowl and, using the Shaw pad w/handle, I had it sparkling clean in a little less than ten minutes.I've ordered some additional pads so we can also clean the sink and the tub/shower tiles of orange stains.

Works Great, Too $$$
I gave 4 star rating only because of it's price. This item works fantastically, but only has minimal use. to replace costs quite a bit. So works great, just not cost effective.

Possibly better than Pumice, to soon to tell
Flat surface. Need rounded also. The handle is ridiculously small. In another year my arthritis will prevent me from using it at all. Not your problem but I’m not the only one with arthritis.I haven’t used it long enough to determine the value for the money or durability. Quit pushing me!

Very Flimsy Product
I agree with many of the other reviews, the product is very cheaply made. Handle is too short to hold affectively without getting my hand wet, yuk, so wear gloves if you try it. The first time I used it the ring was removed very easily so that was great but after that it’s much harder to get it off and some areas can’t be removed. The porcelain was possibly scratched the first time? Don’t know for sure. I’ll try pumice stone the next time around.

Removed the calcium ring
I live in an area that has very hard water. This little tool is great for removing the calcium ring that forms over time in our toilets. It is the best thing I have found for removing hardwater ring without damaging the toilet.

Useless...
I purchased this item to clean the hard water rings that develop in my toilets. I hate the feeling and sound the standard pumice make, so I was very excited when I found this alternative. I followed the directions exactly and I may as well have been using toilet paper for all the good the Shawshandle did. In retrospect, I should have returned it, as it was ordered through Amazon Prime and their return policies are spectacular, but I was so irritated at the time I simply threw the thing in the trash can (I was VERY disappointed). I then retrieved the hated pumice and began the "finger on chalkboard" scraping ordeal...shame on you Shawshandle for getting my hopes up!
