Wouldn't inflate

Incredible to hear all those great reviews, mine does not work at all. It does not inflate with or without pump, there are no instructions to come with. For example it has 2 valves, one at the pump and the other side is for what? When does the 2nd valve have to be open or closed for inflate or deflate. Mine could not get inflated with any effort, stayed deflated but inflated just a bit that it cannot be rolled up to packing site. I also cannot deflate. Can somebody help me? How do you inflate and deflate? Or did I get a lemon product?
