Cobra Digital Portable Feed and Wand Scanner-Black

This surprised me a lot. For the price, I thought it would be only OK, but it turns out that it works great. It scans a lot faster than some of the other scanners that cost us a little more. The software that comes with it is really neat too, the auto conversion of text documents into Word documents that can be edited is really useful. 1 time it messed up when converting to Word and it didn't carry over the signatures, but the other times they did carry over as an inserted pic.The only drawback is that the software comes on a CD, and there is nowhere at all to download it from the internet. The official site for this manufacturer was shut down by ICANN for incomplete registration info. If you have access to a computer with a CD drive and can copy the file to a USB you are good, but for those who only have the newer computers without CD drives, this could be an issue. I would offer to put the file up on my website and let people download it from there, but that would probably get me into trouble with copyright stuff. I am not sure how they feel about me distributing their software for them while their site is down, and I can't ask because their site is down....

I LOVE this product, it will do exactly what I was hoping it would, the only thing is practice, practice, practice...the reader will stretch/blur a receipt if the feed changed due to a tear or imperfection on your receipt & you will need to scan that one again. It was important to use the sliding size bar but not too tight against the paper or it would distort the image. But all in all I scanned 100's of receipts that day, and maybe 3-5 that I needed to re-scan. All in all, I'm very satisfied with the scanner!

ideal to scan old printed photos. You may have to redo some when you do a bunch in a row since if the feed doesn't get it straight the scan won't be good.

This product may be as awesome as some people say it is. The idea certainly is fabulous, HOWEVER, it only comes with a CD to install the hardware. As all of our laptops are of newer models (varying brands) and none of them have CD drives, we were unable to install the software to use this scanner. We spent several hours looking on the internet in hopes of finding a downloadable driver, but were not able to find one.

It does not work. I don't use it at all, it's a waste of money
