I like to have a lot of rods in the boat but i cant afford a bunch of $200 reels. Ive had a few of the CB6 reel for years and ive been impressed by how long they have held up. Ive just purchased 3 of these since the cb6 seems to no longer be available and they are even better than the CB6 im already used to. Really smooth reel for not a lot of money. Cant beat it.

Amazing value and very lightweight.I target reds, sea-trouts and flounders and amazingly performed very well with soft and hardbaits. Casting is amazing right out of the box. I did have a slight bird nest against the wind but adjusted the brakes. Would have given 5 stars but the the reel did develop a low growl at mid cast. Doesn’t affect the performance but an important information for Cadence.

This was the 5th cadence reel I have bought. I now have two vigors and three essence reels in left and right hand retrieve and different ratios. Out of the box they a very good, but not quite as refined as an SLX. Meaning the bearings on the cadence reels have to be worked in a little bit to loosen up. On all my reels I will disassemble and add my own oil. Once I did this I had a $40+ reel that compares to the mid level shimanos. All of these come with carbon fiber washers out of the box and are very smooth. The cast control is perfect and adjusts just as well as any other reel I have had and comes with the bonus of not having to remove anything and flip magnets.If there is a downside compared to what some folks feel is important, it’s the composite material body. For me, this is more of an upsell feature than a critical feature for my fishing. I use the Cadence vigor reel for frogging and punching and have zero issues with flex or roll of the reel. Is there a chance that a composite body reel could twist and crack, I’d say about a snowballs chance if the reel is seated properly and secure. Even if these are used for steelhead and smaller salmon I would have no problem using them for side drifting, trolling plugs, or back bouncing.Bottom line, my opinion is these are better than the JDM shimano reels like the bass rise or bass one xt out of the box. After I remove the spool and add the oil I like and break those bearings in, it’s just as good as an SLX at 1/3 the price. If you want to try baitcasting then these are your reels because it won’t break the bank and you will not need to upgrade. If you are experienced and just want a solid reel to add to the rack, grab the vigor or CB8.

Two times in two days I received an empty box with nothing inside. I ordered the Cadence Essence LP L66 . I had previously purchased the 7.3 :1 Cadence reel with no issues and it seemed to be a good product. So decided to order the 6.6:1 reel . Could not believe it when I opened the box and nothing. Not sure now whether to try it a third time or not . I assume others are having the same problem. Think I’ll wait til they get through this batch of empty boxes.

I ordered this baitcaster a little over a year ago now, I used it a lot during that time and was very satisfied, it is smooth and feels really good in hand, Recently I had a issue with the reel and reached out to Cadence, they have an amazing customer service, responded very quickly and sent a replacement reel even though I had exceeded the one year warranty. Definitely a great company, I’m very satisfied.

Very light. I would not suggest using braid on it.smooth, casts great. very good for beginners.I fish a lot for big smallmouth bass and these reels handle them nicely.great price!
