Worthless
I used the drywall anchors that it came with and put about 5 lbs on it and the shelf ripped right out of the wall. And the first three anchors I used snapped in half when I tried to put them in the wall. Do not waste your money on this.

Holes for brackets are not pre drilled.
Shelves look great and it wasn't hard to mount the brackets. Installing could have been a little faster if the holes had been drilled already or at least marked.

Easiest shelves I’ve every assembled.
Despite the would being pretty delicate-it cracked a couple places where the screws went in-this product is perfect. Super easy to instal, great size, great price!

I wimped out and bought these.
Being a home handyman type (I've built most all of my own bookcases, desks, end tables, etc.) in ordinary circumstances I'd just build shelves like this. However, at this price I decided: Why bother? The package includes literally everything necessary aside from a few hand tools. Had I gone to the big orange box and bought the comparable lumber and hardware it would have cost several times as much and wasted more time than the project, for my purposes, is worth. These shelves are very light and fragile feeling. That's because they are made of paulownia wood and though that is classified a hardwood remember that so is balsa. (The term hardwood has nothing to do with the actual hardness of wood.) In fact, the only wood lighter than paulownia is balsa. Because of its light weight it has a very high strength to weight ratio--its promoters will say the highest such ratio of any wood in the world. They will also say it can hold nails and screws well without the need for pilot holes. However, prudence and the experience of some reviewers here would argue pilot holes are a wise precaution to avoid splitting. The wood is very fine grained. Whether it holds up over time without warping or bowing (resistance to which is another claimed virtue of paulownia) remains to be seen. The wood will mar and dent easily, so some caution is necessary in handling. There are two different types of anchors provided. The small yellow ones are masonry anchors and wholly inappropriate for use in drywall. (Note to one-star reviewers: When all else fails, read the instructions.) The much thicker white self-drilling conical anchors are the better choice for drywall but be aware that the term "self-drilling" is overly optimistic. If you decide to use those it's a good idea to, once again, drill a small pilot hole. For added strength and security I decided to use plastic toggle anchors . Of course, if you are drilling into studs you won't need anchors but you will want to use longer screws. In appearance these shelves are better than okay. The wood has been lightly scorched to darken it without using a stain and to bring out the attractive grain. The overall look is, as the description states, rustic. It's a pleasant look and, after all, they're just shelves--nobody's going to be scrutinizing them up close. There's nothing to prevent you staining them to suit your own tastes. The provided shelf brackets have a nice matte black finish which complements the wood.Overall, in my application, for around twenty-five dollars getting five small shelves with all the hardware is a bargain. That's what the five stars is based upon.
