SHELTA Raptor V2

This is a very well designed and manufactured hat. I love the stiff brim in front, I can put an Insta360 Go 2 camera mount on it. It keeps my poncho hood out out of my face. The strap has 3 different configurations or can be removed and stored in the little pocket on the hat. It's a lot of money for a hat, but it's the best hiking hat I've ever owned.

Front brim is baseball-cap sized and very durable. doesn’t get soft or bend when wet. Doesn’t flop in the wind, even on a ski boat going 35mph. This model has the narrower side and rear brim, which give decent ear protection and moderate neck protection, depending heavily on sun angle. If you pair it with the neck gaiter/sleeve it would be total coverage.I run pretty hot, and at 105 in strong sun, this hat doesn’t get nearly as hot as my Tilley.

I was looking for an all-in-one hat for sun or rain that wouldn’t blow off my head in the wind and found it here. In the sun, in the water, in the rain, on land and sea, this hat stays on your head and dries fast too!. Note, the strap really helps, and saved it from blowing off my head driving a boat at some speed in the wind. The brim does NOT flop either. It’s excellent. It’s pretty well ventilated too. I run hot and this doesn’t make my head overheat.Long story short, my favorite hat!

In AZ you need a wider brim hat and although we rarely get high winds - this hat works like a champ. The sides are very narrow - so looking at getting a Land Hawk. The hat is one of the most comfortable I have - but some things of note: It fits like a ball cap on top - very comfortable and cool - but the look is different from the other boonie type hats this company has (which I think looks a little better-more rugged looking). It is a quality hat from a quality company - just feel that in AZ I need a little more sun coverage. In other words don't just look at the brim size...make sure your comfortable with the hat formation as well as they are all differrent.
