I have used these recently as I went on holiday for 19 days and my plants have all thrived well. You have to put the nozzle into the soil on a slant and don’t push them to the bottom of the soil. Also I made a hole with the end of a biro because it stood soil from clogging the nozzle.

Worked well in my hanging baskets but only when inserted in the right position. Bit tricky. I used almost vertical.

Prone to getting blocked when putting in soil.

My big monstera plant survived me leaving for 3 weeks over Christmas by putting these in. It’s really good for keeping plants alive and watering just what the plants actually need

Filled them with water and put them in the plant pots, one week later none of the water had come out and the soil was bone dry. When we took them out they were blocked with soil so we cleared that out and wrapped a bit of kitchen paper round the end to stop soil from going up when we pushed them in. One week later they were still full of water the kitchen paper had dissolved as planned but still no water came out. Maybe a small hole at the top to let a bit of air in might help to release the water. My advice is please don't waste your money or time buying this rubbish.

Just what I wanted

Bought these to water hanging baskets and pots while we were on holiday. The globe's are quite large which is good. Filling can be a little awkward but just your tap at the right flow rate and it's quite easy. How long does the water last? Firstly make sure the pot/hanging basket has been well watered. If not these will last about a day! The plants will only draw the water they need so depending on air temperatures, you're looking at the globe lasting about 7 days.The green ones don't look out of place in a hanging basket and have provided an conversation piece!Overall very good value and they do work. Just remember to water well before using them.

If you just push them into the compost then all you will get is a plug of compost in the funnel and no flow, You need to for a vertical hole to a depth of 6 inches. Firm the sides and then carefully insert the feeder. However, do check the flow to avoid over watering.
