Works great even on the tough, deep rooted desert weeds

This is well made but 2 items need to be refined for best results. 1. Blade is coated, cutting surface edge is rounded. File on flat face evenly. Lightly oil after use to prevent rust. 2. Bolts were blue loctite. Will break bond when used. Apply red loctite & let cure to fully harden for 24 hours. You can speed up this process by exposing to hot sunlight or hair dryer. These are the only cons other than than it's heavier than the original weed thrashers. As similar to any cutting tool, most need the edge sharpened before use to perform at its best. Don't expect easy cutting right out of the box, prep it first. Use common sense, no whacking on stones, heavy & wet grass or timber. I do like this, it should hold up well, worth the cost

Using a simple weed whip is a lost art. I like these for several reasons they are light and easy to handle they don’t burn fuel or need recharging they don’t sling grass and weed debris all over your body I could use this in a suit and not get messy out here in the country we have ticks and chiggers string trimmer’s will sling those little critters all over you. Now you will still need the string trimmer for certain areas you can’t get to but overall I like these simple weed wackers.

I don’t know how some reviewers gave this a good review. This thing is dull and can’t cut! I’m mad coz my return window is closed. My fault but I was so busy didn’t have the time to open it on time. Beware not a good product!

The actual shape and weight is good. Unfortunately it came with a huge dent in one of the serrated edges. The steel seems really soft so it was probably an accident. Luckily I'm a knife guy and just hammered and sharpened it again but very few people would do that. * Pros. - I like the balance, it's center of Mass is just slightly in front of the hands - ease of use, a little practice and it's quite handy to be able to grab with zero set up - good when you're near a car or window and don't want to make a mess or fluck stones around * Cons. ( recommended improvements) - the coating on the blades just make it harder the insight sharpen, i took my diamond stone and sharpened it and removed the coating - the blade steel could be better, something that can hold the edge better. The shape and geometry of the blade is fine. Just wish it was better steel because you're swinging this thing around so it's pretty easy to chip. This would make it more expensive, perhaps release a PRO version - a sheath in addition would be nice, for transporting to protect the edges - you could even make the back slightly heavier so that the center of mass is close to the back towards your hands like a sword. Which would make it even easier to handle. (Though it isn't bad where it is now) This came sooooo close. Just needs a few tweaks

this is exactly what i needed for both grass and weeds....not too heavy, perfect length, and light enough to cut weeds in delicate areas

The blade is not sharp. I doesn't cut grass or weeds at all. Extremely labor intensive. I wanted a scythe but this is totally ineffective for cutting grass/weeds.

Nice product but its too heavy for a 92lb old lady.

More effort needed than I thought but a very useful product.

So this is super fun, but super dangerous. Before using, you need to use your own wrench to tighten the bolts, the wrench that comes with it is very thin and doesn't tighten it enough. The lock time is blue, you might want something beefier so when you are golf swining it doesn't come undone. Also when assembling, do not get a kid to do it. Again the wrench barely fits on a nut when tightening which is super dangerous as it could slip out and cut you. Straight out of the box, the blade is coated, you will need to wear off the coating on the teeth and to oil it to prevent rust in the future, but it is super fun to use once assembled and check it out as you go to ensure it stays tight. It's 48" tall and has two optional rods, but you need the swing height to cut better. We got this because we have a field right behind us and wanted to cut down the weeds to our gate. FORE! Anyone! You'll be practicing your gold swing and gardening at the same time! Note in the pictures what i mean about the nuts/bolts, even fastened they are still out a little and could use some lock in it. Best investment, ai don't have to nag the hubby to get the weeds.

Moved into a new home with a badly unmaintained yard. I prefer manual work to gas-powered so my reel mower just choked on the junk weeds and seed-grass. Ordered this product in spite of some bad reviews and was extremely satisfied. It is about the size and shape of an unusual putter, with the same grip and swing - so GREAT for golfers! It is not effortless, of course, because it isn't a "frikken lazer"; it's a hand-powered scythe. I suspect many of the low-ranked posts here need to understand this better. This is of higher quality than the ones I grew up with but like other (experienced) posters, I suspect that if it were not serrated, I could sharpen the blade for a more effortless cut. The serrations are beneficial for lazy folks who don't like to sharpen their tools, but are a compromise that I find problematic. Were I to give one piece of advice it would be to offer a non-serrated option. Other than that, this tool has exceeded my expectation.

Sadly a waste of money, unless u can swing like the hulk…. Did very little… after swing thru weeds 10 times. Tossing in the bin.
