I had an unplanned power outage yesterday in my area and only had a small flashlight and my phone. So I figured I should get an emergency, battery operated lantern. I looked online and there were way too many but this was well reviewed, and seems to be what I needed.I bought this yesterday and Amazon Prime had it to me today. It seems to be very well built and I like how it looks. I put in fresh batteries and turned it on. It was fairly bright. But definitely not VERY bright like all the other reviewers are saying. Fortunately, I don't have to debate anyone as I have a light meter on hand. With everything else out, I held the meter about 16" from the lantern and it read between 150 - 160 lux (a lux is a lumen per square meter, so around 150 - 160 lumen at that distance). See my photos.So like I said, while it's fairly bright, it's not nearly very bright like some are saying. Not even close. I'm keeping it though, since I do need an emergency light and like I said, it's well built and the price is right. But definitely not 1,000 lumens and if you've seen output from common 500 lumen, 750 lumen household bulbs, you'll certainly agree. 3.5/5 stars but giving them the benefit of the doubt by rounding up.

Ok , I am about as critical as one can get when it comes to purchasing things off of the internet , Amazon etc.... I guess I’m old fashion and expect companies to live up to what they promote . I was very skeptical about the Deal on the I internova 1000 camping lantern but my experience thus far is nothing less than spectacular. The product came earlier than expected , it appears to be very well constructed and durable, the light is extremely bright and its operation is simple. I am interested in putting this thing to the rest and checking out the battery life but for the price I would highly recommend this product and anyone looking for a quality lantern. More importantly , I have experienced some of the most professional and genuine customer service from this company that I will but more products from because of it. Prompt notifications, personal emails and even an email with FAQ’s about the product before I even received it . The art of quality customer service seems lost by the majority but this company is spot on and I’m looking forward to purchasing some of their other products. Just an add on .... I’m a reg Joe with no affiliation to these folks and have never spent this much time writing a review about anything ... that is how impressed I am!! Happy shopping everyone !

I am a light gadget geek. I love this company. This is the 6th or 7th light I've bought from them and every one impresses me. Price is always a factor for me and money is well spent on anything from Internova lights. This lantern is extremely bright and can go nice and low for a night light. The red light option is nice if needed. It is large so not an option for backpacking, but car camping or for home when power goes out, this baby is awesome.

We live in Southern California and have many power outages due to wind and fires. This product is a must and we keep it next to our bed. On a recent fishing trip with friends, we lost power and were able to cook dinner, eat and play games with just one of these. Great product!

This Internova 1000 Lantern is outstanding! Bright, well made, great value. My girls just used it for a week long camping trip and loved it.I own several Intervine products, the Guardian headlamp, 2 Supernova Orion lanterns, the Guardian 1300XL, and now the Internova 1000. I am a prepper and these products are an integral part of my preps. The fit and finish is excellent, the price is great. I am very picky about what I allow into my preps. My life and my family’s life may be affected if there is ever a need. Keep coming up with wonderful product Intervine, you have a customer for life.If you are undecided about this purchase and need a high quality source of light, just do it. You will not be disappointed.

I bought this product to use in case of emergencies. I wanted a bright light. This one advertises that it's 1000 lm. Excellent. The first one arrived and my wife and I struggled to try to open the battery compartment. We were getting ready to return the lantern just because we couldn't access where the batteries go. Finally, with a lot of work, we managed to open the compartment. We put in the four D cells and nothing happened. By the way, the polarity for each of the batteries is molded into the black plastic compartment. It is difficult to read.We wrestled to get the battery compartment cover back on. After we did, the light would not work. We substituted different batteries just in case we had a bad one. Still no luck. At that point, I asked Amazon to replace the product. The replacement arrived the next day (Isn't Amazon wonderful?). Again, we struggled with the battery compartment. We finally got it open and got the batteries in, it worked.The second unit works fine. It's very bright and the reflectors in the lamp compartment spread the light nicely. Given the price, I'm not certain this is the best choice of LED lanterns to purchase. The same time we bought this one, we purchased a Coleman LED lantern. The battery compartment was clearly marked for polarity, everything went together quickly and easily with no stress. That light worked as well as this one. Since the price was almost the same, I'm not sure that I would recommend this product.

Fantastic Lantern. Extremely light and Bright. This is the third Intervine product I have bought and owned and I have never been disappointed. This one is for a friend. Now I may have to get me one also.
