Completely useless for detecting a PVC pool pipe leak
I rented one of these first before laying down $2,500 for purchase. I wanted to see if this would be effective at detecting a pool pipe leak. Pipes are all PVC and are all about 2ft under ground. Some are under concrete pool deck some are under the lawn. This was my first time using such a tool. I watched the youtube video on the operating and read the manual. I couldn't distinguish the difference between the ambient noise and a leak. The filtering wasn't very helpful at muting outside noises. I found this tool to be completely useless. I'm also not sure why these are so expensive.
