As stated in description- home button doesn’t work with fingerprint. Yes you’ll need to read the instructions to install the screen and then it’s pretty easy to install. The screen is very nice and clear, looks great and works very well. So far so good! If there are any problems in the future I’ll update my review- otherwise an excellent product!

My wife's old iPhone 5S, a 16Gb (A1528), had severe damaged but functioning screen (some holes where glass fell out). To use this as a trade in on a 5G phone I checked quotes around town ($55 to $105) for repair costs. I asked 1 store how complicated it was and they said it was easy so I ordered this kit (glass, digitizer, camera, speaker, home button) to see if I could do it myself. It took an hour and a half with pausing to watch multiple online videos but I got it installed, working, and all in the first try!To use the fingerprint home button you MUST use the original home button. I was skeptical of the camera, speaker, and sensor but testing it confirmed they produced good quality images/sounds. Replacing the home button wasn't too hard and after getting it back together the phone looks new and the screen is bright, color correct, responds well, and fingerprint reader works after the swap. Tip, use packaging tape if the screen is really cracked and falling apart, it works.I am very happy with the quality and final result of this replacement piece. As I am trading the phone in I am not concerned if it will last a year but seeing the 5S is so old and will have problems on modern networks it is now at worst a fancy iTouch and at best a credit on a newer phone!

I originally just needed a front camera replacement for my 1gen SE, and this was the only option for such a outdated phone (keeping for the small form factor)The supplied tools were ok, and the screen protector was a plus. The screen has a bit more observable “grey” vs. the OEM black, but not enough to affect display quality.The 4 stars is due to the home button cabling being incorrect (plug was right, but the way it routed was wrong). As well, the home button never functioned. In my case, I just utilized my original home button- which thankfully fit on this screen assembly.So I am back in business with a perfectly good phone for $20!

No instructions were included. You have to follow YouTube videos to figure it out but most of them are not identical to what you have been provided (although the inclusion of some parts is a bonus).Touch ID will not work and using the original breaks sensitive parts when you try to bring them over.I would not recommend doing this repair. Just take it to a professional and save your money and frustration.

Easy to install

That part of the product, the screen, that works works well. But it was only after installing the whole thing that I found that the home button didn’t work, and I, therefore, had to reuse the original home button. After looking closely at both screens and buttons, it was apparent that a piece was missing from this product. And in the end, all my daughter’s phone needed was a new screen. The new button would have been an added feature.

I’m hard on my phone. A little weld spatter on the screen and they are done. Closing wire gates smashed screen again. Working on farm equipment and animals, my phone is always taking a hit. Even in the leather case it gets beat. Amazon says I’ve purchased 30 screens. This one is about the same as any other I’ve ordered just at the time was the cheapest.

Swapped out the cracked, broken screen and faulty home button on my old 5S in about 20 mins.I gave my old phone to my son to play games and msg his little school friends. Item was as described and the install was easy.

Screen reacts as if to touches when I don't touch it, and also stops responding to touch when needed. But sometimes it works for 5 min just fine. I think the screen gets funny like this when the phone gets too warm, but it's almost every time I use the phone.The home button works great (minus finger print ID of course), and the front facing camera as well. The screen's color rendition and image quality seem just as good as original. My old iPhone 5S looks like new, but with touch response this bad it's a glitchy headache to use.Installation: The cables were not pre-bent so that they can even fit into the phone (maybe a good thing, but I would have preferred otherwise). Much care was made to try to match how and where the cables were bent on the original screen. The connectors at ends of cable seem different than original screen's: They looked thinner and silvery at the top, but maybe they are missing tape padding/insulation? Maybe that's what's causing my screen touch response errors?

initailly 1 day fine' then screen with lines vertically , which increases day by day, within 2 to 3 days everything black

I will never again buy a screen that makes me move the camera and stuff.This swapped in so easily compared to the times I had to reuse the camera and speaker from the old screen.I did move the home button for fingerprint sensor, but that was pretty darn easy.My 17 YO is happy with it.
