When Can You Start? 2014: ACE the Job Interview and GET HIRED Paperback – November 19, 2013

I was skimming thru the star ledger of 02/14/14 and saw the author give quick responses to those whimsical, stress induced, and puzzle questions and decided to try it out. What was I going to lose 10 bux at most. I worked for a large financial company for over 7 years and after being laid off had absolutly no idea how to re enter the interview scene. The book has great sections on what the current employers are looking for and how to present yourself as the best candidate for the position. From phone interviews to panel interviews, from "tell me about yourself?" to "why do you want to work here"? And those one off situations you may face. I'm sure that there are many many books to read and I have benefited from a few but this book with it's honest and genuine tone helped me retain and use the information as I begin my job hunting process. I have worked in human resources for 14+ years. I am very comfortable sitting on the interviewer's side of the table. Not so much on the candidate's side. This book provides a lot of wise counsel on preparation, how to respond to various "trick" questions, how to deal with innapropriate/illegal comments and questions, and how to follow up after the interviewer. No one book can provide you with everything you need as a candidate, but this one comes close.

This was a gift for my granddaughter, who just graduated from college. I looked through it, and thought she would like it. She said it was fun to read, and she got a job the next week. Not sure if this was the instigator or not. I thought it was amusing.

Great book, helped me land a job. Even had someone ask me my age, thanks to this book I knew they couldn't do that and stated the law to my interviewer. Highly, highly recommended.

Delivered in a timely fashion. I have only read the first few chapters so far though.
