Two Wrongs Make a Right (The Wilmot Sisters Series)

SO GOOD!!!
Y’all Chloe Liese has done it again. THIS BOOK. We’ve got opposites attract, fake dating, grumpy/sunshine, neurodivergent MCs (autism and anxiety), LGBTQIA+ rep and just heaps and heaps of swoon. Best of all - an MMC who goes to therapy and openly talks about it!! As you know, there is nothing sluttier a man can do than go to therapy. To top it all off, it’s super funny and when the steam hits it HITS. Jamie is a stern brunch daddy with an excellent *bedside* manner. 😏I CANNOT get this main couple out of my mind. Allow me to introduce them:James Benedick Westerberg aka West aka Jamie aka Jame - pediatrician, cat dad, cook, listener and absolute stern brunch daddy for the GODS. A *highly* acceptable blonde manBeatrice Adelaide Wilmot aka Bea aka BeeBee - e r o t i c artist and creator of Prurient Paper - a line of stationery featuring hidden seggsy pictures, hedgehog mom, twin to Juliet, force of chaos and mega-klutz. A highly relatable heroine.Jamie and Bea’s friends basically badger them into several failed meet-cutes for the first 15% of this story, and after figuring out they’ve been part of a ruse to get them to date, the couple sets out on a plan to get revenge by pretending to date and break up in a highly dramatic fashion. Of course, these adorable idiots totally fall in love with each other instead. 🥰This book is Chloe at her finest. It’s soft and sweet and shows the reader so many kinds of family and friend relationships. You simply cannot help but fall for Bea and Jamie and you can’t help but root for them. The thing I love the most about Chloe’s books is that I always feel safe reading them. I know she’s going to show me something heartbreaking from time to time but she will ALWAYS put me back together in the most beautiful way. 🥹Chloe puts a content note in the beginning of her books so make sure you check that out! This one has a couple of side plots involving abusive family and intimate relationships.

My goodness
I went into reading TWO WRONGS MAKE A RIGHT with no expectations beyond a fake relationship story that runs the usual course for that trope. The story is so much deeper than that. The writing is excellent. I am ready for the next sister! What made Jamie and Chloe’s story so good is the realness of it. It has awkward moments, and it has some things that were not resolved. But, the coming together of these two characters was romantic and humorous. The self depreciating humor was so clever. The way the couple navigated through the relationship was fresh. We got to know other characters that were important to Chloe and Jamie that will endure in subsequent stories. The ultimate passion, steam and breathtaking kind of love for two sort of “odd bird” type people, was worth reading.

A lighthearted read
A disastrous meet cute twice over spells trouble, but is rescued when friends insist Bea and Jamie commit to one date preceded by texting under fictitious names. This is a boisterous romp compellingly portrayed through his and her points of view highlighting how focusing on the positive creates transformative feelings as they create a mutually beneficial relationship out of the dross of the original meeting. The characters are well drawn, believable, and charming. An all around good read.

Neurodiverse characters, slow burn, hot ending
Another book club gem! I'm so glad this was our choice to start off 2023. I love the characters in this book, and I was so excited to learn that it is the 1st in a series. I loved the dual point of view and the clever transitions. I appreciated the "meet someone where they are" messaging when addressing Bea's autism and Jamie's anxiety. I laugjed my way through this fantastic book, from the "meet-disaster" to the HEA. Highly recommend.

4⭐️
Oh they’re so cute! This book did not shy away from tough subjects and it made it so much better. Bea is autistic, and instead of just simply stating that as if it’s a personality treat, there are actual characteristics of autism. It’s not just added for ✨flare✨. Jamie is totes swoon worth. And I know there has to be something coming out for Kate and Christopher.

Adorable Beginning to What’s Sure to be an Amazing New Series
Loved this book! Jamie and Bea made my heart glow and their opposites attract romance was so sweet to read. Jamie, you absolute cinnamon roll, how will I ever recover! A pediatrician who adopts elderly cats🥲 I ate him up. And Bea is such a delight, her crab costumes genuinely made me cackle. It was lovely to read two characters being so authentically themselves and falling in love along the way! Btw, if you’re like me and prefer steamier scenes in your romance this book is also for you! Don’t let the gorgeous cover fool you :)

I enjoyed the story and the characters, as I usually do on other Chloe books.
I love Chloe Liese Bergman Brother series and I was very excited to read her debut on a major publishing house. This book is a modern adaptation of Shakespeare’s “Much ado about nothing” which, albeit I know the story, I haven’t read neither have seen any adaptation. That said, I enjoyed the story and the characters, as I usually do on other Chloe books. What I liked about the book:- Neurodivergent and Anxiety representation.- I’ve struggled a bit to connect to the characters in the beginning, especially Bea, but as they settled on their arrangement and started to spend more time together, I ended liking their dynamic and rooting for them.- As usual, Chloe is an expert in writing book boyfriends.- Lots of communication between the MC’s, on and off the bed. What I think it could have been done better:- There were several moments on the book when I was trying to guess the end and considering a lot of options that could ruin the story. However, as the story progressed, all of them were proven wrong and I was excited for the big finale, until it finally came, and I absolutely hated it. There is no other way to put this… The final conflict was stupid, a complete nonsense and ruined the book.I'm a bit disappointed but intend to continue read Chloe books, now hoping for better story ends.

another Chloe Liese win
TW: biophobia, toxic relationship, manipulation, absentee parents, panic attack, and others I may have missed.Bea and Jamie realize that they’ve been on the receiving end of their friends meddling. Playing Cupid because they think they would be good together? Preposterous - they can’t stand each other the minute they meet. They want payback, so they agree to fake a relationship to convince everyone the meddling worked, only for them to call them out at the end of their plan. Except of course, the more time they spend together, the more they realize that maybe what they’re feeling isn’t pretend.I just realized that I never reviewed/marked it read on Goodreads 🤦🏼♀️ oops so sorryChloe Liese is an author that never really misses for me. She jams her books full of rep, witty banter, relatable-to-me characters (neuros), and always has such a good grasp on where she wants her story to go.TWMaR hits all of those boxes. Two people who fully believed they were opposites in everything only realized they had way more in common than they realized because their friends meddled. I thought their progression into real friendship was so cute.Communicating your boundaries is one thing, but having the person you’re telling them to actually follow through and make them easier for you to handle is something entirely. Bea and Jamie were able to bring that out in each other: Jamie experimented with puréed soups because Bea has an aversion to textures of veggies. Jamie struggles expressing himself and Bea acknowledges her interruptions/shutting down.I haven’t read Much Ado About Nothing in a very long time, so I can’t speak on how loose or close the reimagining is, but it’s a great book that definitely stands on its own.

3.5 stars
Not my fav from this author but I did enjoy it.I liked how they learned to understand and appreciate each other’s quirks.**potential spoiler**I wasn’t a fan of the plot device used towards the end of the book. I felt like the heroine was unnecessarily unfair to the hero. Fortunately things worked themselves out, but if they hadn’t, was he expected to accept being treated that way indefinitely?
