This thing works like a charm! Insta-hot and ready to go!
It is a great way to make a glue gun more portable. It works seamlessly with any Milwaukee or off-brand compatible batteries. It gets hot and ready to be used in about 15 seconds and does not drip when used. It is a killer glue gun that has replaced my corded versions.

If you have Milwaukee M18 tools/batteries and wand a decent hot glue gun this is it
If you have Milwaukee M18 tools/batteries and want a decent hot glue gun this is what you are looking for. I am amazed that the big power tool brands have not jumped on this market. However that has left it open to others to fill the void and in this case they have done so quite well.First off contrary to what others have reported this does have low voltage cutoff or protection for the battery (or at least mine does). There is a small circuit board in the handle that is in series with the heating element and testing with a variable voltage power supply shows that it shuts the glue gun down around 14 volts. I also let it run a 2.0 battery down and it shut off shortly after the last bar on the battery gauge started to blink indicating the battery was almost empty. At the cutoff if the battery is in good condition and healthy 14 volts overall corresponds to an individual cell voltage of 2.8 volts. This is in line with 2.7 volts per cell being as low as you normally want to go for modern power tool batteries. There is a slim possibility that if your battery is not in good condition and one of the cells is considerably weaker than the rest it may run out of power early and still have the overall pack voltage high enough that the glue gun does not shut off, thus possibly damaging the pack further. However if that happens the battery pack was probably not going to last much longer anyways.I did some additional testing of both the tip temperature and power consumption. The glue gun uses a PTC type heating element which heats up reasonably quickly. It took around 6-7 minutes to warm up enough to use high temp sticks and takes 20-30 to cool down to the point where I would be willing to pack it back up. The max temperature at the tip was about 325 which is plenty hot for high temp sticks. It does drop a bit if you run a large amount of glue through quickly. As it is a PTC type heater its power consumption rapidly drops off as it warms up. It only draws near 100 watts briefly when it is turned on and is still cold, settling down to less than 20 watts after 7 minutes. This is how almost all modern consumer grade glue guns operate and it works out quite well when running off a battery pack like this glue gun does. Once up to temp the power consumption is low enough that you can get usable run time on even a 2.0 battery. Personally I will probably use it with 5.0 batteries and do not expect to have any issues with run time.Overall it is quite impressive for the cost and a worthwhile purchase if you already have Milwaukee M18 tools and batteries. The mechanical construction is decent and the performance is on par with a corded 100 watt class consumer grade hot glue gun. It's not going to beat a higher wattage commercial grade hot glue gun.

Wonderful product - worth the money!
I ordered one of these in May. I did not use it until August when I was setting up my classroom. It would not heat much less melt the glue. I reached out to the company through Amazon and the product was replaced. The replacement works perfectly and heats up quickly. It's easy to use and can be used anywhere as it is not confined to a cord! The customer service I received was top notch! They responded to my inquiry within two hours and the replacement was shipped within the same day. Will not hesitate to purchase another product from this brand or seller!

Portable hot glue! Great for events
This thing is much nicer than i expected. It has a red light that switches to green when it’s ready for use. Doesnt take any energy out of my m18 batteries. Highly reccomend this tool.

Life Changing!
I've been using this thing for about a year and have been extremely happy with its performance!! You never know how amazing a cordless hot glue gun is until you try it. I built several large props for my school and held everything together with hot glue from this gun. It was so convenient. It does go through batterys quickly, but I only have the smallest 1.5ah batteries, so just keep that in mind, and I do wish it had a couple different heat settings. But overall, Great product! Feels high quality, and at a great price! Love my cordless hot glue gun!

Works well but be careful
I really like this glue gun with one caveat, I will give ratings then explain.Pros:• Works as described and works on both Makita and Makita clone batteries.• Feels well made (mostly) nice brass tip solid feeling body• Heats glue up well and works like a charm when up and running.• Good customer serviceCons:• Be wary about squeezing the trigger before the glue is fully heated.I bought this gun since I have makita tools in my garage and it was compatible and at a good price, its nicely designed and fits right in and could pass for another makita product at a glance. The gun has an on switch and a nice bright light on the base to tell you it is turned on. It accepts full size sticks, not the mini ones. I used it a few times and was really happy. This was until I turned it on and did not give it enough time to warm up to full temperature. I squeezed the trigger with a moderate amount of pressure and the feeder device for the glue sticks snapped and stopped feeding. Now this is not the first glue gun I have owned, though it is my first cordless and I have never broken a feeder mechanism before so i was not giving it the gorilla grip. I reached out to the company, through the information that came with the glue gun and they requested a proof of purchase, with that they sent out a new one with out any issues. I still like the gun but I am going to make sure it is fully heated in the future before I pull the trigger again. I gave it 5 stars because mine may have been a lemon, and the company was quick to resolve it and I do like it.

Great product
I purchased this item for my mother since she likes to do arts and crafts, especially for Christmas. It’s made it a lot easier for her to get those crafts done. The cordless design doesn’t limit her work area to an outlet, like this cheaper ones that you can buy off the shelf. And the Milwaukee batteries fit perfectly in this thing. It does burn through the charge on the batteries but that’s a nonissue, it’s simply a byproduct of the cordless design and well worth the benefit of being cordless. Besides, so long as you have a charger for the battery nearby, you won’t be waiting long between uses. It’s a nonissue since she’s never actually had to use the entire battery up for one project since the thing heats up quickly (within a few minutes) and reliably dispenses the glue at a very controllable, and consistent, rate. This means she can use it very easily.I’d definitely recommend this product. Especially if you’ve wanna make someone’s life a little tiny bit easier. Thanks for making such a great product!

Not perfect but still a great tool
The ergonomics of the handle and trigger are a bit funny, and the battery doesn’t slide on as easily as other Makita “Compatible” tools I own, but these minor issues don’t stop this from being my favourite hot glue gun. It’s only rated at 100w, but still manages to heat up in about 1.5-2 min, much faster than my 200w rated Bosch PKP 18E gun that takes 3-4 min. The tip is perfect for the kind of work I use it for, long and thin enough to get into corners, and has enough flow to lay down plenty of glue when needed. It’s also replaceable if you want a different shape/size tip, and includes a check valve, so doesn’t ooze when not in use.If you are on the Makita platform and need a hot glue gun, this is a great option.
