Excellent! for the price.

The American Terminal E-FFR250N is a very good quality universal insulated 1/4" disconnect. I use these for a variety of temporary and non-critical projects, and I have been very happy with the quality of this item. It is on par with the Gardner-Bender products that are generally sold in Home Depot and other hardware stores.But... beware of vendors selling generic substitutes:I've ordered these terminals a few times from multiples sellers, but the item received from "Googol Shop" appears to be a generic substitute. It did not arrive in the standard packaging that all of the others came in, but rather in a plain plastic bag. The terminals themselves are of slightly different construction (thinner material, slightly different shape) than the genuine American Terminal item as well. While this is still perfectly fine for most of my projects, it's a bit annoying to receive a slightly inferior product than what you are expecting.

Not the quality you can relied on! The crimp material is made of inadequate material SOFT ALUMINUM. After the crimp, in 2 places on each side, the wire is not held secure, I pulled it out with little effort. This goes for all of these items I am reviewing. When I was first hired after college, the guy I was assigned to sat me down with a pair of crimpers and 500 wires, for 18 gauge to 12 gauge, told me to put the proper crimp inline terminals on the end of the wire and call him when I was through. Needless to say, it took some time, strip, crimp and go to the next. Bob (his real name is Robert) came back sat down and proceeded to check each crimp using a pliers to pull on the crimp after wrapping the wire around a conduit pipe. None could be pulled loose by him. He looked at me and said: "You can work with me!" We were together as a team for 4 years. I understand crimps, these are not crimps, the internal metal crimp appears to be SOFT ALUMINUM. This means you cannot solder them in a pinch and then slide the insulator on to the crimp and tape for a temporary fix. NO I DO NOT RECCOMEND FOR ANY USE TO ANYONE for ANY JOB.

I have purchased just about all sizes and types of American Terminal connectors and they are all of good quality and crimp well without destroying the boot, as some lesser quality connectors do. I have a habit of keeping an eye on the seam of the barrel, as the crimper's point needs to crimp the opposite side.... they are all aligned on the same side as they should be. The barrel takes a beautiful, tight crimp.

Asked the question from others and did not receive a response. Took a chance and found my own answer. For those that would want to know, yes both pieces do interlock including the insulator. One insulator fits over the other and gives an additional layer of insulation from shorting out if used on positive side of electricity. There not completely protected from weather, just like most terminal connectors.

All my life I've awaited the perfect terminal and these are them. With the tiniest perfect hole to jam my wire into and crush. And crush I did, over and over again until (you guessed it), I must have more, MORE, MORE. I will be obtaining another package very soon and with these guys you can be sure it will be soon enough.

Bought these here about 10 months ago with 3 other variations. Have used about 60--all very good fit and quality. Kept searching alternatives in Amazon until these showed up "free shipping" with warning of 6 week delivery. Took the free ship and they all came in 12 days! Terminals locally come in packs of 5 single terminals for 2.50!

Excellent quality, great value for the money. If connecting M to F make sure to buy the correct mate from the same vendor. I did try to use some old ones from another vendor and they wouldn't fit. But these are inexpensive enough, just buy both!
