I had to buy this after my 2 kids went through $400 in snacks in less than a week just to pour them on the floor. We’ll imagine their disappointment after trying to sneak in the fridge late at night under the cover of darkness to achieve their wickedly delicious destruction only to be met with a fridge lock and have to fight with it to no avail and hang their head low in defeat while dragging their soggy pull-ups back to bed and lay there in such infantile frustration that only another infant can understand.I won this battle.I’ll keep you posted on the outcome of the war.

I saw the other reviews saying if you put it together right it works, but my 2 year old still unlocked it in less than 2 seconds! Not worth the money or hassle. He thought it was a fun toy though.

As others have said, lock it the right way. Otherwise they won't work - at all. Also measure your cabinet knows to make sure that they can securely fasten. One dimension you might not think to check is how much clearance underneath the knob head. The lock fits just barely and very snuggly under. This makes for a pretty secure lock but we have to make sure it's on tight. If it's not, it's very easy to slip the lock off even while "locked". Simple lock that works and won't damage cabinets. Worked very well, if we had more knobs we'd use more of these

I'm glad I purchased these despite a lot of the reviews saying their kids know how to open it. Eventually my little one will figure it out, but let me say this has given me weeks of no stress that she's getting into the kitchen, bathroom and shoe cabinets. I rent and can't put up anything more permanent. And tbh the day she figures it out will be just fine with me because she'll have worked out those motor skills and then I'll be on the hunt for something new. Until then, I am enjoying the peace this is bringing lol. May I also recommend putting it on the lower part of your handle if you have long kitchen ones. At the top the cabinet still opens enough to get caught in the doors.

This product was, well, yes, easy to install, but I think that’s the problem. I think this product has high ratings due to the fact that the star ratings are based on easy installation. But the main function of this product is to prevent children from getting into areas they shouldn’t. Being that it is very easy to operate, children, such as my two year old daughter, is able to figure this out and get into every cabinet on her own. This is the worst purchase I have made in a very long time. Despite seeing some of the negative reviews I decided to order this, but I hope this will help to prevent someone else from wasting their money. Look elsewhere and spend a little extra money on childproofing your cabinets.
