This adapter goes out and does exactly what it promises, converting a USB-C style port to a standard USB. I had purchased this adapter for use on the my Android phone, and it works nicely. Transfer speeds are on par with what can be expected with standard USB 3.0 transfers, and no issues with heat on my end. That being said, it must be noted that for safe use of this adapter, it should be attached to whatever full-size usb device you plan on using before plugging it into the usb-c port (EX: connect the adapter to a flash drive first, then plug the whole module into the computer)

These work perfectly, they do what they’re supposed to without a hiccup and they’re exactly the right size, hard to imagine them being any smaller. Definitely buy these as your first accessory with a new MacBook or MacBook Pro, it will really ease the transition until you get more C devices.
