WORTH. EVERY. PENNY.
My son is 9.5. We've tried other alarms before with no success since my son HATED them. They were bulky, difficult to use, scared the life out of him with the alarm just inches from his ear, and had user error written all over it. He refused to try an alarm again for over a year so we were back to doing laundry every morning.Until I showed him this one. He warmed up to the idea and so we started once school was out for the summer. And let me tell you... this. thing. WORKS. We're not completely dry... but in almost 3 weeks, we've had to wash bedding only TWICE. This is from a kid who was wet every single night, sometimes more than once per night. There are still some nights that the alarm goes off, but he is able to make it to the bathroom fast enough so no bedding gets soiled. Other nights he tells me he just got up and went to the bathroom whenever he found himself awake, and just today he told me he thinks he woke up before he started to wet. Hallelujah.I agree with both reviewers here and the manufacturer recommendations: your child needs to be sleeping on the floor in your room (or you in theirs) for the first ~2 weeks. The first night the alarm went off, my son didn't even budge. The second night he woke up, but was so groggy and out of it that he still wet horribly since he had trouble stopping the flow of urine. By the 7th or 8th night, he was completely waking himself when the alarm went off. I can't imagine it working nearly as fast if I had to run down the hall to wake him.The clip mechanism is very easy for my son to use with a little bit of practice, even in the middle of the night. Once on, it will not come off unless you manually release the clip. The clip on the transmitter that attaches to the underwear band isn't as strong, but we found it stuck better when attached to his shorts. My son said he doesn't find it uncomfortable, or at least it's WAY better than the system that attaches via a long wire to an alarm on his shirt or arm band. The alarms themselves are good. There are 6 of them that vary between tolerable to horrible… the way a good alarm should be to wake a child. There are 3 volume levels (I think), though there wasn’t much variation between the levels. The alarms aren’t deafeningly loud but truthfully, I think my initially being there as soon as the alarm went off was much more valuable in teaching him to wake up than the volume of the alarm itself. To turn off the alarm, you just hit a button on the side of the receiver. (There’s a small blinking red light that helps you find it in the dark.) The alarm does not continue to go off unless it senses wetness after a minute. This gives your child a little time to get to the bathroom, finish voiding in the toilet, and THEN take off the alarm to change underwear. This was a HUGE downfall to another alarm we used… it would keep going off until the sensor was removed from the underwear which wasted valuable time when the child is supposed to go to the toilet ASAP.We’re still not 100% perfect, but never in my wildest dreams did I think we’d be this far in less than 3 weeks after 9.5 years of nightly wetting. My son is really proud of himself and even admits that using the alarm is far less work than changing bedding every night and doing laundry every day. We may need to use it longer than the summer we initially agreed upon to get fully dry every night, but this thing makes it so painless that I don’t think he’ll mind wearing it longer if needed. I’m SO happy I tried this product!UPDATE: It has been 6.5 weeks since I wrote the above review and the alarm has gone off only once since then. Every other night my son has woken up before it has gone off. To say that this alarm has been a success is an understatement. School starts next week and we will officially retire this alarm and can say that we are now 100% dry. I couldn't be happier with this alarm and would highly recommend it, especially for the older child where nothing else has worked.

Great Product
This is our second try with a bed wetting alarm. The first time my son was 7 & 9 months. Now he’s 10 & 2 months. We bought the expensive alarm where your child has to wet through their clothes to the bed wetting pad. Several reasons I would highly recommend this as a better solution: 1)Less mess- The alarm clips to their underwear. As other parents have said, you can easily slip a pull-up over their underwear to help with any accidents. 2)Less expensive- At under $60 this alarm is worth a try. If it doesn’t work right away, you can tuck it away and try again in 6 months to a year. It’s not a huge investment for an effective product. 3)Durable & Easy to use- This alarm is very compact and pretty much indestructible. The clip is small and the attached battery pack can tuck into their pjs. It’s not heavy or cumbersome. It takes very little time to unclip and change their clothes if they have an accident, which is ideal for the middle of the night. For parents that are struggling with bed wetting, this isn’t a dream solution, but it worked for us surprisingly well once my son’s body was ready to cooperate. Here’s a little of our story in hopes it may encourage another mom or dad. My son was potty trained during the day when he was 3, but continued wearing pull-ups at night. He never had a dry night. When he was almost 8, we decided to try a bed wetting alarm. We had heard success from others. We tried diligently for 10 weeks with very little improvement. My son would urinate 2-3 times every night and the alarm helped us have many 1 alarm nights and maybe 4-5 dry nights during those 10 weeks. It was exhausting for all of us. My son ended up pulling out the wires and destroying the $300 device after trying for 10 weeks. We had his annual physical shortly after trying the alarm and decided to put my son on medicine. He was getting yeast infections with the pull-ups and still wetting through to the bed. For over 2 years, we used the medicine and it worked great. No accidents. Unless we would forget to give him his pills.I was skeptical trying an alarm again, thinking it would take a lot of time and may not be successful. I’ve been shocked at the results. My son and I slept in our guest bedroom with him on a blowup mattress. In 10 days, my son has had one accident. One benefit of sleeping in the same room with your child is you better understand their sleep pattern. My son goes to the bathroom before bed, but he needs to urinate again 2-3 hours after going to bed. His one accident was 1.5 hours after going to sleep. At first, he was getting up 2 additional times, but now it’s down to one. So he’s waking himself around 11pm and 4am every night. Like I said, I’m pretty shocked at how well this is working for us. We’ve moved back into our own rooms tonight and I’m going to keep using the alarm for another 2 weeks just to be on the safe side. I really think this is a great solution if your child’s body is ready. Good luck!

This is working for our family.
I purchased this alarm after trying a similar version, that was cheaper and broke in less than 10 days. We’ve had this product for about 4 months and my son is having no accidents when using the alarm. It hasn’t completely cured the problem because he occasionally will have an accident if he doesn’t use the alarm but we aren’t having any accidents if he uses the alarm. He is 8 so he is able to wake with the alarm, go to the bathroom, change his underwear, and go back to bed without assistance. I’m not having to wake up all the time to wash the bed and sheets every night which has been amazing. We really like that the sensor and alarm are separate pieces and that the piece that wakes you up is not an arm band. My son didn’t like having the armband on while he slept with the other version we tried. With this he puts it in his pillow case under his pillow and it doesn’t bother him while he sleeps. We also tried having it across the room so he had to get up to turn it off but for us under the pillow has worked fine. I recommend this product and would buy again. Just know that it isn’t a magic cure that will fix you your problem within a week. It will take time but this has been great for our family.
