We used this to catch chipmunks in our back yard that were destroying the integrity of our stone wall by making borrows in the dirt that held the stones in place. We got 2 in four days and were able to release them in a forested area. The trap was a bit hard to open at first till I got the hang of it. Also we used shelled sunflower seeds which tended to get into the grooves of the trap so I had to take a knife to dislodge some seeds that would get stuck. But once dislodged and cleaned it was ready to reset to catch another. We hope it was only 2 and haven’t seen anymore. We also caught a mouse which we were not expecting, it also was released in the forest.

It was a little hard to get the end open to release the mouse. Otherwise these worked pretty good. I used peanut butter and bird seed for the bait and caught a lot of mice. These traps on their own didn't fix the mouse problem but it definitely helped keep the numbers down.

I have caught a lot of mice with these traps. I hate killing them so I take them and release them far from our cabin. It's a little hard to clean the peanut butter off thoroughly and the mouse poop as well but they are a good alternative to the kill traps. Of course you have to be there to empty them though. Good news is that we seem to have gotten rid of the mice!

I really like how simple this is and it works the first time! I was really sad to see that the mouse’s tail got caught in the trap door :( please make it longer to accommodate the length of a typical mouse tail. Poor little guy was trying to release his tail and was upset. Overall, it’s great. I would just highly recommend making it a little bit longer for that reason.
