I have only had this for a week, so I am not sure how the bourbon will turn out. This is a cute barrel. I see that a lot of reviews are reporting that the barrel leaks. It did during the curing process (the directions said that it would) but there are no leaks now. I expect some loss due to evaporation but it is not leaking once I put the bourbon in it.

Edit/update.. Stellar customer service helping me get my problem fixed. Read below for advice. I'd also recommend going ahead and buying the wax along with the barrel just in case you do have a leaky one.I'd do business with redhead again.DO NOT TRUST THESE bbls with expensive liquor. I followed the seasoning instructions. Was concerned with first couple days how bad it leaked. Had to fillnit up evey day.It did eventually stop. Gave it a day or two to double check. Then added my un aged Jack Daniel's limited edition. Huge mistake. It started leaking again 2 days into aging. I'm so upset at myself for not putting a cheaper starter batch in.If you go this route, just buy the wax and leal it yourself. Mine actually looks like it's rotting now. I think I'm going to pull what's left of the bourbon out and salvage what I can. I cannot reccomend this product due to my experience.Again. I didn't cut corners, cured for over a week with water. Leaking had stopped.

I bought this barrel because i wanted to age some spirits. Price was right, so i gave it a shot, did not expect much. Got it, and wow, this thing is very very nice! Leaked for about 1 hour (they all leak at the start), then sealed right up. The craftsmanship is unreal! I was going to keep this in my garage, but it looks too nice, so it sits on a table in my house! I have not tried any spirits from it yet, but i presume they will be fine!

Looked great out of the box but rusted within a few days. Trying to soak it and seal it up for a month now and no luck. Tried barrel wax and no luck. One whole side still leaks along with several knots in the wood. GO ELSEWHERE FOR YOUR BARREL.

Barrel sealed in just a few hours. Got my whiskey in it and all is well. Smells amazing and it’s aging away. Really looking forward to the finished product

I bought this for my husband as Christmas gift. The idea is fun and he liked it. I followed direction to cure the barrel but it still leaked. The customer service is awesome and they sent me barrel wax right away and it fixed the leak. I’m not a whiskey drinker so I can’t tell you if it really enhanced the flavor. My husband though the flavor was just ok for our first try. I think this is a great gift idea though.

I bought two barrels from another company, both leaked. I then bought two barrels from Redhead. It was clear when they arrived that their quality was fundamentally better. Neither barrel ever leaked and I am enjoying my barrel aged cocktails. I plan to by another barrel soon.

Just got it and filled it with water, it is leaking a tiny bit, but I am certain it will seal up, instructions say it needs to swell up to make the seal tight. If not the company will send out barrel sealer. And I have not yet viewed the instruction videos.Beautiful little barrel.

他の方々は漏れまくると書かれてますが、私のやつは全く一滴も漏れてません。たぶんですが、素手で押し込んだだけでは漏れちゃいます。私が採った方法ですが、まず力いっぱい手で蛇口を押し込み、その後蛇口が壊れない程度の力で１０回前後プラハンで叩き込みました。最初は心配で小鉢を蛇口下にあてがい、かつちょくちょく確認してましたが、1Wたった今でも一滴も漏れてません。さすがに金槌では壊れちゃいそうなので、プラハンorゴムハンで叩くのが良いと思います。まだ1Wで味の変化が認められなかったため★４つとさせてもらいましたが、基本的には不満なしです。カッケーですよ。安いブレンデッドのスコッチで満タンにして約4W追熟させてみました。結果...劇的に味変しました。より甘くなりコクが深まった感じです。美味い不味いは人それぞれだと思いますが、私は味に深みが出て良いのではないかと思いました。少なくとも待っている間「どんなんなるんかな？」というわくわくだけでも価値があるのかな？と。今はそのスコッチは瓶詰めして、空いたスペースに赤ワインを詰めて様子を見ているところです。楽しいので★５つに昇格です！

この値段に見合う商品とはとても思えない物がきましたねぇー非常に作りが悪くがっかりしました、蛇口の部分もひどく作りが雑であまりお勧めしません。外人のレビューはそれなりに良いですが、日本人はまず納得できない一品です。5日たっても微妙に水漏れします、なおるのかな？追加レビューです僕が買った時は１６０００円でした、現在は１００００円に値下げされているようですね水漏れの経過ですが、いつまでも漏るので諦めて安いウイスキーを入れてみました。ウイスキーを入れて約一月たちますが未だに漏ります（微妙なんですが漏ります）ただし水の時よりは漏りが弱くなりましたが。（樽の中の炭化した物が外に染み出てくる感じです漏れている部分が黒くなってきます）始めて購入しましたが、、こう言う物なんでしょうか？（いつまでも洩れがとまらないので廃棄しました）実際の味ですが、これは驚きですスーパーで売ってる４Lで３０００円ぐらいの超安いウイスキーを入れてみましたが２週間ぐらいでものすごい変化が起きますまるで別物になります、信じられないぐらい美味くなります、ほんとに驚きです。最初に入れはのはスコッチ系のウイスキーなので確かハイニッカかな？バーボン好きの僕は次に業務用の安いジンビームを購入して寝かせてます、飲むのが楽しみです漏れは仕方ないので樽のしたにテッシュを置いて対処してます。この手の樽で漏れずに１万以内で購入できればとても良い商品だと思います、ここまで酒が変化するとはおもいませんでした焼酎も試してみたい所ですが。。。。。。他にも２万の同じような物を買い（ほぼ詐欺ですよね）（中にビニールがしこんであるもの）もうへそくりがありませんのでまた頑張って焼酎用の物を買います。＊＊＊＊お知らせ＊＊＊＊＊＊天使のミニ樽って商品を発見しました、値段も１万以下です（２L）アマゾンにはまだ無いようです、しかも日本の企業です頑張って買ってみました。全く漏れません、やはりちゃんとした商品は漏れないみたいですね。

ワインを投入するもバルブからダダ漏れで使い物になりません。買わない方が良かったので絶対にお勧めできない商品でした。
