It definitely feels like it's doing something...
Whether his actually does work for pain relief I'm not entirely sure. I have persistent shoulder pain so I gave it a try - while you don't feel much at around the 20% mark and only a little bit at the 50% mark, I can tell you it's no joke when you put it up to 100% - you can really feel it working its way into your muscles. I've tried it several times since then and it's certainly possible the pain associated with rotating my shoulders was a little reduced... but it's hard to say if that's a real effect or something more akin to a placebo. You definitely don't need to ask yourself 'Is this even doing anything?' because you know it is. Whether it's helping though... that's something I can't definitively say. Perhaps an item you need to take on a certain amount of faith in the end.

brilliant little device - just wish it had touch screen
excellent little device. depending on the mode, it delivers short, sharp but powerful pulses to your muscles via these little pads that attach to it via long cables.there are several pads provided that you can reuse. the sensation takes a little while to get used to and is uncomfortable at first but once you get used to it, you can turn it up and you can feel your muscles relaxing.it is very intuitive to use and has a nice clear screen. the only reason for knocking a star off is that i wish it had touch screen but i guess that's to keep costs down and provide better battery life.

Effective TENS Machine
Neat little unit that arrived partly charged, with a good variety of soft connector pads, and a comprehensive instruction booklet that emphasises as much where you SHOULD’NT use TENS as where you can use it to relieve strains and pain. Two channels on the unit for multiple application one one subject, or for sharing the same programme with someone else. You can certainly feel it working, especially on the higher settings, and only time will tell whether it gives long term relief. So far so good, and I would recommend this

Great massager
I never usually look at instructions with things like this but I actually spent the time reading this one! What a great little massager! I put 2 of the panels on my back as I usually struggle with pain between my shoulder blades. I had it on the acupuncture mode and well...I didn't put it past level 3 as my arm was shaking on one side whenever it buzzed! I'm assuming I must have placed the pad on a nerve! It is easy to use once you get the general gist and the nice thing is that due to the panels and long wires, you can apply the pads pretty much anywhere you are getting pain.I found it relaxing so have tried to do it before bed for the time it suggests. It's also rechargeable so you can use it wherever you like.I think massages suit everyone differently so I expect this will be no different, but I personally think it will do some good for me and my (very minor) back pain.My partner suffers with sciatica sometimes so it will be interesting to know if it relieves his pain when a flare up arises

Nice looking, some quibbles
This looks like a fairly expensive piece of kit. In terms of functionality, it does what it’s meant to, in that delivers pulses into the muscles. It’s an odd sensation to anyone not used to it, and can be uncomfortable at higher intensities, but if anyone ever tried those ab belt things that were supposed to give you a six pack without any effort on your part? This is the same technology and sensation. Not that I ever did that of course!! It comes with a variety of pads and all the gear to get going.TENS has been around for a long time, but isn’t proven for pain relief in spite of being used on the NHS. What I’ve found is that it does relax muscles, which in turn can benefit pain if some of it is down to tension and msk issues. I find it helps me that way even if it doesn’t help with some of my more intractable joint pain arising out of autoimmune disease and osteoarthritis. The reasons I’m only giving it four stars are as follows. 1) because I think the instructions could be clearer: they would benefit from diagrams rather than relying on occasionally questionable written instructions. There’s a lot of them, yes, but not as helpful as they could be, particularly in terms of where TENS shouldn’t be used. 2) the different settings are quite similar and not particularly distinct. 3) as others have said, you have to cycle through all 24 settings to get to the one you want, and there’s no last setting memory, so it’s a pain in the bum. BUT, for £21.99? It’s still value for money imo.

Great machine
Got this as i get a lot of back pains so wanted a tense machine to easy the pain.Got to say I use this a lot after work now whilst relating on the TV,It's easy and quick to setup, just put the jelly like pads on the area that needs to work and select the settings on the machine and increase/decrease the tenseness you prefer.Small and portable so you can even take this out with you under your top and no one notices.

Worth trying for pain relief
When you have chronic pain you will try almost anything to give some relief. TENS or Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, is the employment of small electrical currents designed to block pain signals from reaching your brain. That's the theory behind it and it has mixed response from users, with some people, and I seem to be one of them, not noticing any real effect.I have regular discomfort from an old shoulder injury and, like pretty much everyone, a lower back, lumbar sacral problem. I also have an old neck injury that wakes me at night, but sadly this is one area that is contraindicated for TENS. On that point I would urge anyone thinking of using this device to read the manual, especially the bit about areas of pain you shouldn't treat with TENS.The machine itself looks good value so I can't justify the removal of any stars just because it hasn't worked for me. It may be a different story for you, but do consider running the idea past your GP if you have any niggling doubts.
