Pee-wee's Playhouse #2 - Seasons 3-5

Welcome back my friends to the playhouse that never ends come inside, come inside. Pee-Wee's playhouse box set #2 contains the remaining 22 episodes of the show from seasons 3-5. Six of the episodes were thought to be lost and never seen-before, so it's definitely a bonus to have them included in this set. The episodes are once again spread out over five single sided discs and come in individual thin cases with great artwork.Fans will be pleased that this set contains the same excellent video and audio quality as found in set #1 of this great children's show. This set completes the show and brings back all the fun of Saturday mornings gone by and now you can see it whenever you want. Paul Reuben's AKA Pee-Wee Herman has recently been doing the late night talk show circuit and say's a re-release of the show on DVD is in the works. He also say's the DVD delay is because he's been working on bringing back the Pee-Wee character for a big screen return. I hope the rumors are all true and I wait patiently for the triumphant return of Pee-wee Herman. I love Pee Wee's Playhouse. I used to watch this when I was a kid. My daughter saw a Pee Wee movie and really wanted the series. When we watched it together it brought back such good memories of my childhood. I remembered doing the word of the day and how much chairy was a little scary. LOL I am so glad I found these and was able to share this memory with my daughter. She loves them. If you watched this as a kid you will remember a lot of the stuff. I did. Did you know that Cowboy Curtis was played by Laurence Fishburne? I also realized that Jimmy Smits was on this too. He played the repair man that fixed Conkey. The most interesting thing I found out was that Rob Zombie was a production assistant. Yes, the Rob Zombie. How crazy is that . I had no idea until I watched these with my daughter. That was a real shocker. If you like silly comedy and crazy antics this is for you. These arrived on time and well packaged.

I have had Pee-wee #1 for the longest time and finally broke down and bought #2. This show cracks me up. I've been catching myself buying shows and books from my childhood because I'm starting to hate everything out right now. That, and I have a kid and want to share the things I loved as a child (who doesn't?). I love the shows that were "for kids" but had enough in there for the adults to laugh at. I think this is one of them. I dig the show, my husband digs the show, and I'm sure my kid will too. Unless he's like my mother, which I hear that can happen. Eh, what a horrible thought! You gotta love Pee-wee to buy this, otherwise, it's too much. Don't get me wrong, I can only sit through a few episodes before I start twitching, but I still enjoy it from time to time. Yay

This was the best purchase I have made in years. The music and the vibrant colors make it all that more exciting to watch! The Pee-wee Herman character is so silly and the writing is great for both children and adults especially when it comes to the occasional flirtatious remarks. The whole family can watch this together as it is age appropriate from birth to 100. So don't pass up on this purchase because you will at some point need to have something like this to get you through the holidays. Pee Wee was way ahead of it's time and it's sad that no one can do a show quite like this. Everything is CGI and the music is barely audible. Thankfully I found this on DVD and for a great price. I plan to purchase a fourth set in case they stop making them. This is a true classic and should be kept with movies like, The Wizard of Oz!

I was a huge pee-wee fan when it first aired in the late 80's so I was excited to add this dvd set to my collection. I was suprised to see that I did not recall seeing the majority of the episodes on this second dvd set so it was all new to me! If you liked pee-wee back in the day you'll still love watching him...there is a kid in all of us :)

I ordered both sets #1 and #2, and after noticing the poor video quality in set #1, I was hoping that the later seasons were better. Unfortunately, the same terrible image quality greeted me after trying serveral of these discs. Too bad, as Pee-Wee's Playhouse was meant to be seen with vivid colours and a cartoon-like sharpness to the set and props. Unfortunately the quality of this transfer to DVD is the worst I have ever seen. The image is blurry and the colours are dull. It looks like the DVDs were made by pointing a small camcorder at an old TV that was playing back episodes from home-recorded VHS tapes that were found in a wet basement 20 years later.The material is still great, but the visual quality sours the whole experience.

I loved pee wee as a kid and I love pee wee now as an adult! This is a must have for any pee wee lover but also buy the movie! This is a sure fire cult classic. Relax, enjoy and be prepared to travel back in time to your childhood!

Paul is one wacky guy and really knew how to be entertaining. If you want to relive your childhood or share it, buy this!
