Exceptional boot!
I’ve never owned Merrell boots before and I was surprised how comfortable these were right out of the box. I’ve been wearing these for a week now and I honestly don’t have anything negative about them. Only thing I maybe would nitpick is the insole isn’t the best. I’ve since replaced it like I do in all of my boots though. I ordered these in a size 11 wide and they are def wide which I like.

) I LOVE my Merrell shoes but wanted some hiking shoes
I have the low top shoe in the same size, but in regular width. (Stores never carry wide width shoes for my flintstone feet.) I LOVE my Merrell shoes but wanted some hiking shoes. I ordered the same size, but this time in Wide (2E). The fit is fantastic. At first they felt cavernous in the toe area, but then I remembered that when I first got my low tops I almost couldn't wear them with socks. To Merrell's credit, my duck feet stretched those shoes out to where they now feel like slippers, and the shoes did not fail. They stretched out in all the right places and now they are like old friends. These hiking boots came just right. They have infinitely more support than the low tops but feel very light on my feet. There is room inside if I want to add thicker cushioned insoles, something that would be a total non-starter in my regular width low tops.

Excellent! But calculate replacing the laces and insoles into the cost
An excellent take on the lightweight hiking boot. If you've ever had to slog miles wearing heavy mountaineering boots, you won't believe how light these are. I can't attest to their durability, as their construction makes them only a single /shoulder season boot and they required no break-in period whatsoever. Your feet WILL get wet if you wear these in wet conditions or bushwack through marshes or tall grass, but they dry quick. The weakest link in these is the lacing system. After fussing with where to tuck the unruly mess of laces and trial & error cinching, I threw away the stock laces and put in elastic laces with cord locks which work much better and faster. The other gripe is the insoles are pretty rigid and get slick with sweat. For the cost, Merrel shouldn't have skimped on the laces and insoles.

Great shoe at a great price!
I saw that these were for sale under $100, so I bought them. These are great for work if you're on your feet all day in an office. The color is described as "Walnut" but they look grey to me. The size was accurate and they feel good. Nice arch and ankle support. Once the weather warms and dries, these will be decent summer hikers because they're vented.

Great shoe, fits correctly and for wide feet
I started out with an 11.5W, as so many shoes these days seem to run too small. I returned those and bought the 11w size, which fit perfect. Quality seems very high, and looking forward to many miles hiking in these.UPDATE: now have had them for a while, including 2 weeks on Safari in Africa and I'm very happy. Great quality and craftsmanship, not junk like so many cheaper brands. I took the advice of another reviewer and replaced the inner foot liners with some Dr Scholl's gel comfort ones, and it made these boots comfortable to wear all day. I'm now a Merrell shoe fan for life.

Amazon sent wrong size!
Love the sneaker version of the MOAB 2 so I ordered this short boot version. Wide feet so hard to fit. Ordered 11W (EE).Received normal width 11. Shoe is marked 11 inside. Merrell sticker on box is also just 11, but it was covered by an Amazon barcode label saying 11 2E.Big FAIL, Amazon!

They run a bit large, but these are terrific boots
Fit is perfect at half a size smaller. Very comfortable and sturdy.
