Read the reviews and then bought it. Here's my take.
This particular pencil is hefty and feels solid in the hand. Compared to the Pentel Kerry pencils it is noticeably heavier. The barrel of the pencil is approximately the size of a standard wooden pencil, perhaps a little larger. I have not experienced leads breaking with this pencil, but I am using the Pentel HB leads and not the leads the pencil comes with. I use block erasers, so I have not really put the eraser in the pencil to the test. From what little I have used the eraser on the pencil, I can say that it has the standard mechanical pencil wiggle. It does not bother me at all. I only use it for small erasure tasks. Some people have commented on the "gritty" sensation they get from indexing the lead. I have experienced this and it sounds and feels like what you would expect. I believe it is the spring rubbing against the metal body. This does not bother me in the slightest. Considering the rigid, weighty feel of the pencil I almost expect that kind of sound.Ultimately I wish to get across that this pencil is well designed and well weighted for my large hands. It was an excellent purchase and I would buy it again.

The Best
Within the realm of mechanical pencils, there are always your good, bad, and just down right awful. I have had terrible success in the past with other brands, namely the cheap ones from Walmart and other places, and in the long run, I've spent more on stuff that breaks than that actually has longevity. The feel and sheer weight if this pencil is amazing. Possibly the heaviest pencil I have ever held. It feels super solid and the writing experience is a dream to behold. The build quality is very good as it is all metal on the outside. I am very happy with my product and will be on the look out for all metal mechanical pencils from now on.One thing that has puzzled me is how to get to the inside of the pencil itself, just by the off chance that a piece of lead or something breaks inside the pencil, to try and fix the issue. So far it looks to be one piece but I will update my review if I do find something.

Hefty and attractive
Enjoyed the pencil thus far. Attractive silver casing, nice serrated grip, clutch mechanism works well, and writes wonderfully. This is a "hefty" pen (which I also like), tipping my kitchen scale at 26 grams -- heavier than Graphgear, Kuru Toga, and even Rotring (on my scale at least). Can't comment on the pencil's "balance" because I've not had a marathon writing session with it yet, but I've enjoyed writing with it for the past several weeks.

TWSBI Quality
This fast became one of my favorite pencils. It's well balanced and weighs more than I would have thought. It feels good in my hand and is a pleasure to draw, sketch or write with. I'm considering purchasing a second one. Definitely worth the price!
