I need love that this gate retracts when it’s not in use! It blends in with the wall and is out of the way of the stairs. The gate is see through when in use, so that is a nice feature!The gate was very easy to install- great directions included!The gate is very kid-proof. I don’t think my toddler will ever be able to open the gate herself which makes it very sturdy! That being said, it is difficult to latch closed with one hand when holding a baby. However, this is my only complaint so I still give the gate an overall 5 star review!

I really like that with this gate you don’t have to latch and unlatch it or constantly step over it like those wooden ones. I like just opening and closing it when needed. It seems pretty sturdy and not easily ripable. I will say you need 2 hands to close it but 1 hand to open it.

I'm used to the old tension style gates, that you had to keep locking & unlocking or step over if you were tall enough - and when you weren't using it, it sat awkwardly and inconveniently to the side somewhere.This gate is SO MUCH more functional! It's sturdier since it's installed vs just placed hoping you chose the right tension slot. The retractable feature makes it so easy to go in & out, but safely keep the dogs & kids behind it. And when not in use, it's nicely retracted out of the way. It's not a beautiful addition to the door frame and I Don't love that I had to drill holes into the frame, but absolutely worth it for the convenience, ease of use, practicality, and safety of the little ones and fur babies. 10/10 recommend

This is a nice product overall but has some downfalls. It cannot be opened with one hand. It requires two hands to set the gate in place. You can use one hand to open it to walk through but not to set the gate. In addition, the parts on the wall are plastic. I have teenagers and it only took a couple months of going through it roughly for the attachments to break. Now the replacement parts to repair are unavailable so I need to buy a whole new gate. Disappointing. When it was working, it was great to keep my dogs in their space. Since it is mesh, it will snag and fray if your animals are scratchers.

I got this to contain my 2 year old and he managed to break the top mounting bracket. Now i have all the holes from mounting this one and i need to try a figure something else out to keep the kids where they need to be.NOTE: This is also by no means stealthy opening gate so i you plan on putting it somewhere that while kids a sleeping close it will make a good deal of noise as it winds back up. There is no way to be quite opening it

The media could not be loaded. I absolutely fell in love with this retractable baby safety gate. I like how I can open it with just one hand while holding my baby with my other hand. It is not bulky like other safety gates I have . It is really sturdy and does not flop over to the other side when my 2 year old toddler and 10 month old lean on it . Instructions were very clear and easy to understand. Installation was super quick because it comes with 2 wall guides(one for each wall ) . I marked the wall where the guides told me to and drilled the wall mount in. I also love that it comes with 2 sets of wall mounts and that I can slide off and on the baby gate to another location I decide to install it at :) I am definable going to replace my old baby gates I have with this retractable safety gate . Definitely recommend!

I read all the reviews before I purchased and didn’t see many complaints so I went for it. I have a dog and baby I need to keep out of bedrooms. The gate looks neat, no complaints with that. However I’ve learned you can not use this gate one handed. I am able to open it with one hand, although it is a little tough. But in order to close it you have to push down on the two buttons and then pull the screen, you have to put the bottom part of the gate into the wall mount then push the lock down and push it into the top that’s attacked to the wall. Extremely hard to do with one hand and nearly impossible if it’s not your dominant hand. To use this gate on laundry day I would literally have to either set my laundry down ( or toss it over the gate) unlock it and walk though use both hands to shut it and then pick the laundry up. Not convenient. I’m too lazy to return so I’ll put it up in the laundry room to keep the dog in when she’s muddy. Again I definitely don’t recommend.

Extremely fast shipping! I ordered and received it April 5th! while Amazon was saying April 12-15 at the time of purchase. Wish I had this with my firstborn, because my mom n husband always complained“wish someone created something with push of a button to move it away when not needed” these guys actually did! Modern! Stylish! Your kids don’t look like they in jail plus it comes with everything you need & installs a lot easier and faster than more expensive bulky brands we had 🤪. Affordable yet stylish and with a press of a button it opens & easy to close. FINALLY I BOUGHT SOMETHING I DIDNT REGRET OR DIDNT HAVE TO send back!My stairs are bit non standard and 42 inch wide if that helps, I added last 2 pics how it looks once installed. Love the look!
